I've bounced around for years trying to find something to help manage my short, graying, coarse and thick hair. I don't like the wet or slicked back/to the side look. I really prefer the clumpy, beachy, styled between the fingers look.I used a ton of different clays throughout the years and there always seemed to be something that kept me from sticking with one or another... whether it was scalp irritation, flakes, hard to rinse out, not a good enough hold... I’ve been using Hanz de Fuko Claymation for a while now, and it’s one of the best hair clays I’ve tried. It gives a strong hold with a very natural matte finish—nothing too shiny or greasy. What I really like is how it doesn’t damage or dry out my hair over time, unlike other styling products I’ve used in the past.Another great feature is that it’s easy to reactivate with just a bit of water. You don’t have to reapply more product throughout the day—just wet your hands slightly and restyle, which is super convenient.The only downside is the price. For the amount you get, it does feel a little expensive. But overall, it delivers on its promises and the quality is definitely there.

Easily the best clay I’ve ever used. A little bit goes a very long way, and the hold is very strong. I have medium-long hair that I pretty much slick back, and this works great for holding the shape I like. It also doesn’t leave your hair feeling greasy. It feels light in the hair, and has a nice matte finish to it. Never getting a different hair clay again!

This isn’t going to read like a 5-star review, but I think the product deserves that rating. I have slightly wavy thin white guy hair and have used this product for at least 5 years.After showering, I take a very small amount and rub it between my hands vigorously to heat it up and then run my hands through my hair. This product has given me the ability to shape my hair and have it hold throughout the day.As I’ve gotten older, I’ve experienced hair loss and general thinning. Even with running my hands together to heat up this product and applying it while my hair is wet, I still end up with more friction and pulling than my hair can handle.If genetics were different, I’d stick with this because it’s so good, but I’ve regretfully had to move on.
