My previous stand was a cheapie, V legs. It was sturdy enough for washing the bike and lubing the chain, and, if careful, adjusting the derailleurs. It did not hold the bike rigidly. This stand, admittedly twice the price but not much heavier, is rock solid. I had no trouble removing the pedals, including the obligatory for me, trying to turn the wrench in the wrong direction, tightening instead of loosening. So quite a bit of force was involved. The stand adjusts easily in both height and angle the bike is held. I am short, 5'3", and I can raise the height of the bike to where it is hard for me to lift the bike. It also folds and unfolds easily. The only complains are that I have to lift the bike up with one hand while the other tightens (or loosens) the clamp, which is a bit of work, and that the clamp is a little too long for the seat post on my wife's bike, which has the seat post extended only a short distance.

Excellent service stand. This stand has the same principle as a camera tripod, the difference being it is very heavy duty and solid but not too heavy. With base legs spread it is very stable and in closed position takes up very little space.Height adjustment means it is good for people of any height. The pivoting head with the vice style frame grip is rubberised so this avoids paint damage occuring. Tightening screws are comfortable to use and large making for easy use.In conclusion, a very well designed and engineered stand which can be popped in the boot of your car or in a cupboard and an essential piece of gear you won't regret purchasing.Likely designed by someone who has serviced many bikes and knows exactly what is required.Value for money is excellent.Faults ~ None
