Funny spooky stories - a great addition to Halloween!
We bought these books as the main party favor for our annual Halloween party for our child's class. The attending second-graders were very excited to receive a book as part of the goodie bag, and the parents appreciated it as well. Very fun and funny stories, spooky without being terrifying, large font (notebook with doodles style) - overall, very happy to have found this! At least 3 guests told us they've been able to read it by themselves, and one copy went to the classroom library as well just in time for Spooktober.

Very happy with the book
Looking for a fun and slightly spooky read for your kiddos? Rowley Jefferson's Awesome Friendly Spooky Stories is the answer! Jeff Kinney brings the laughs with quirky tales, and Rowley's narration is a riot. The stories are full of surprises, the pictures are a blast, and it's just the right amount of spooky for bedtime. A must for giggles and not-too-serious reading time!

Beloved by many children
My nephew would like to spend his whole life playing video games. He will read the Rowley Jefferson series. When I give him a gift, I prefer it is something besides video games. This book and others in the series have been winners. He loves them!

7 year old loves this
My son (a huge fan of this series and the wimpy kid series) read the entire book in one day. Then he insisted on reading to ME at bedtime that night. We turned off all the lights and used a book light to make it "spookier". It was a wonderful experience. The stories in the book are cute. You think they're going one direction and then they twist at the end. Similar to twilight zone but for kids. It's a cute read.

Nice Stories
I am giving this book to two young men for Halloween. I believe they will like it. One of them has been asking for scary stories. The stories are engaging without being too scary.

My son is a huge Diary of a Wimpy Kid fan and these books compliment that series. They’re a pretty quick and easy read. My son read this book in less than 5 hours total, so it isn’t a long haul type of book. We liked that because it kept his attention and didn’t feel like a huge commitment. These are a light fun read and a good break from his longer novels.
