A little overpriced, but top notch mesh system
So the price of these nodes/satellites nears the bottom tier of commercial grade network systems. These are marketed as a consumer product; however, do not have the security features commercial grade products would typically include. That said, this is a top line consumer system with some better features than I have seen on similar products. Set up is super easy with the use of Linksys's app and it provides a strong stable connection throughout my house. One thing I wish I was able to do easily in the parental controls is ban certain websites throughout the network. While this can be done with someone with above average networking knowledge, the app allows you to block sites on a per device only basis.A plus is that this system allows for WPA3 encryption for devices that support it. It also has a feature (Channel Finder) that will scan your networks channels and recommend the strongest channel assignments when things seem a bit off and give you the best performance for your netork. This is very useful for those without the knowledge of how channels work.Overall, I believe this is the best consumer grade mesh system on the market today. In other words, great for home use. The price is a bit too high though, especially considering there are only 4 LAN ports on the back of the device. If you are looking for products for your business (small or large), I would recommend Ubiquiti or SonicWall products. Something I learned for my own business is that commercial equipment does not include a WPS button. However, you do have the ability to turn of WPS functionality on this device and I recommend doing so. How easy would it be for anyone who gained access to your home, either with permission or without, to gain access to your network using the WPS button. Just food for thought.

Excellent product and more.
This Velop WiFi 6 router replaced a Velop primary wifi 5 node in a four Velop router system (1 primary and 3 daughter nodes. Two of three nodes were mocha wired). ISP eventually was fios gigabit switched over from Xfinity.Primary concern was maintaining operabilty in the existing Velop wifi 5 network. And realizing signal strength and speed with new optical system (fios vs Comcast).1. Set up was complex and required lengthy hand holding from Linksys tech support. Support was excellent and required patience and a tablet handy. Besides mobile phone going for about an hour.2. I am transitioning from Xfinity copper to Fios optical internet only feed and then possibly Ting optical. That said I am collecting LOTS of data within the house to support my end point decision.Wrt to the new Velop wifi 6 router:3. Compared to the Verizon supplied wifi 6 router ($28/month additional) the new Linksys Velop router seems to work just as well in my 2500 sqft house. But....4. I was not able to test the complete system of Velop wired daughter nodes vs single fios router to evaluate whole house performance. But I was able to compare the provided Xerizon router directly to the new Velop router.5. The Fios wifi 6 router has been returned. Another story.6. Another story is exiting Xfinity internet service agreement.7. After about 24 -36 hours of data collection (collected by analiti app on mobile, tablet, PC and two not smart TV) looking at whole house performance with the new Velop wifi 6 primary and four wifi 5 daughters - (two are wired but no game playing but lot's of streaming) conclusions are:- signal strength thru most of house with new Velop is not significantly different than the fios wifi 6 router and much improved over comcast wifi 5.- whole house speeds are much improved with the new Velop router/wifi 5 (daughters) network vs Comcast wifi 5 network.- head to head comparison of Velop wifi 6 vs fios wifi 6 routers...they seem seem to be equivalent.- price of fios router $28/month ($280 outright?) vs Velop $136.Final impressions: fios and velop routers look identical physically, new Velop router allows operations with existing velop network hardware/passwords (not tested with fios). Be prepared to call tech support if integrating with the least bit complexity. Velop tech support easy to reach, patient and tech savy.

Do not buy this device.
I bought it about six months ago. I have a NAS and needed to move it far from the Ethernet connection, so I decided to get a mesh system. A friend recommended Linksys as a brand, although he used a different model. At first, everything was fine — good internet speed and solid local network performance for the NAS. But then I started noticing internet lag. I thought it was my provider’s fault, so I switched to a different one. Again, it worked well at first, but then I began experiencing issues where certain websites or apps (like Instagram or Google Maps) wouldn't load. After some time, I realized the problem occurred during the initial load — sometimes it would take 30 seconds to a full minute to load a page or app content. It’s incredibly frustrating. I even found a subreddit discussing this exact issue with this model. The common suggestion was to disable IPv6, but that didn’t fix the problem for me.Another issue is that after the router runs for a couple of days, Wi-Fi speeds can drop significantly — from around 800 Mbps down to 100 Mbps. This is clearly a router issue. Restarting it helps, but there’s no option in the software to schedule automatic reboots, so I have to manually unplug and plug it back in.I do not recommend this product. Consider looking for a newer or more reliable model instead.
