This is a great book that teaches you the Aztec history and culture.
This book is sacred to my ancestors. I am half Mexica on my mother’s side of my family. I am proud to be a Mesoamerican native! This book is sacred to me and I am learning about my ancestors life in ancient times. It’s important to remember that we natives were here first and we deserve the utmost respect from every other people that were from the old world.

I enjoyed the drawings and the detail.
Whoever the person was that drew out all of these pictures was a master drawer. I really liked the detail of each figure and all of the added details surrounding the motif. Although I would have liked to understand the drawings with words added I didn't care so I bought a book about Popul Val to get some kind of a glimpse about what these pictures were all about.

Great cheap version of the Borgia Codex
Be warned that you must compare the images from this reproduction to the original, for three reasons: 1) sometimes the authors of this reproduction use colors that do not match the original codex, 2) sometimes the authors of this reproduction place the wrong imagery in the reproduction, for example a monkey's head instead of a humans head, and 3)Sometimes the authors speculate as to what might have been on a page and they use their own judgment, which might be wrong.Other than that, this is a great reproduction of the Borgia codex. It is cheap, it is light and it is well made. Another thing to keep in mind, the codex borgia is read left to right, this reproduction was printed right to left, so it forces you to read the codex in the wrong direction.Look at the "plate number" and the page number in the book, they do not match. Also notice that the plate number is in descending order.Update Edit: 2017 -- I still own this book, though I do not use it super often. I would recommend this as a cheap and easy to buy version of the Borgia, just keep in mind that it is not 100% accurate compared to the original. If you have the money, and you can find a copy, your best bet would be a facsimile. But be prepared to spend 100s of dollars. For the average user, this book does the job, especially at the price point.

"Five Stars" -Educator
I teach Latin American Culture to high schoolers who NEED hands on material. The images in this book are oustandingly vibrant! Waaay better than the actual, faded, paint-chipped, original! Some tiny details that were lost to time with the original, were scientifically estimated and "fixed" in this replica edition so that it looks more original than the authentic version. 5/5 stars - especially if you are trying to entice young people to become interested.
