Work well for intermediate, casual clarinet player
Have played clarinet for decades, not a beginner, but not a pro. While I understand a 2.0 is considered a beginner reed and the concept of moving to a higher strength / stiffness reed for better tone quality, I play casually and the people listening wouldn't know the difference. So unless the Boston symphony calls me for an audition, I won't worry about going to a 4.0 and will stick with the Rico 2.0 ... LOL =)

Starter Clarinet Reeds
I got these for my daughter who started the clarinet this year. They have worked well and been durable to her handling and beginner care. So far i am pleased with these.

Good for beginner clarinet players
I bought these for my daughter who is playing clarinet for the first time this year in middle school. This was the brand and strength recommended by her band teacher. After quickly breaking a couple reeds that came with her clarinet, I decided to order a large box to make sure we had enough while she was learning the basics. She says they work well, she's gotten the hang of it now, so the reeds don't need to be replaced as often. This is the second box I have purchased this school year. The first one lasted about 4 months, which is pretty good I think. I find it much easier to buy a large package than run out and get a few more often.

Nothing Says "I love you" like a 4th grader learning to play the clarinet
Did you ever wonder what a dying duck might sound like? I did until I bought the other kind of reeds for my 4th grader to use. Look, I want to be honest and tell you I try to spend as little as possible on things I know I will be picking up off the floor and throwing away later. However through trial and mostly error, I have discovered these reeds make the "joy" of listening to your kid learn how to play the clarinet a glimmer of possibility. I have been able to use just discreet earplugs now and no longer need my sound cancelling headset to get through practice time.
