Appears to work
I ordered 4 of these for everyone's smart phone. They appear to work. I tested all 4 by connecting and opening up phone and manipulated data with my computer. I then installed these blockers and my computer did not see the phone. I confirmed the phone was charging. Will be a good thing to carry when traveling to help prevent any malicious downloads when charging in unknown locations.

Works to block data
I was going on a trip and knew that I might have to charge my phone and tablet from USB outlets, either at the airport, on the plane, or in the hotel.I have no idea how frequently juice-jacking (stealing the data in a phone/table/whatever through a charge cable) actually occurs. My guess is not very often, but why take the risk? I looked at several data blockers and, based on the reviews, bought these.I'm not a very trusting soul, so I also bought a USB cable tester to make sure the data would be blocked when using these. I tested each charge cable that I had, making sure that it would transmit data. I then repeated the test on each cable with one of these data blockers installed. Both of them blocked the data lines on the cables while still allowing the charging lines to connect. Good enough for me-- they went into my travel bag.In retrospect, I ended up not needing these. I was able to use my plug-in wall wart to charge my phone and tablet so my data was not in any danger. However, I like the option of having these in my travel bag in case I have to plug into some mystery USB jack and not worry. For the price, I consider these essential for travel.

Gets the job done
Very easy to use, just plug and that's it! It easily fits any pocket, has a good and sturdy build quality, and the most important thing, it blocks transfer of data. It doesn't hinder the charging speed in my experience. Best to use in airplanes and hotels.

This is called a USB Condom
Not kidding. Use the Google machine if you don’t believe me. I got the clear so I am able to see there is no chip or device inside to read and therefore possibly steal my information. This does the trick. You slide it on. Bad da bing. It’s in. It’s tight. You can see the tip. No possible data chip or board, no extra wires. You then plug it into a female outlet and voila! It’s like nothing is there. You can’t even feel, I mean see a thing. Just the assurance that you are t getting or giving any of your data away. Safety at its finest. No having to take your decide to any doctor, I mean IT repair. No worries about getting any infections or viruses. You can now dip your usb into any port you want. Remember to always use a VPN in any public network and always protect your passwords! Don’t make it easy for them! Badumtissss.Great value for the money! It saved me from many possible electronic diseases and I haven’t had any, “you know this data is yours,” phone calls or texts. Lord knows I don’t wanna be on the Maury Povich show! Know what I mean?No hacking. No problems! I got 99 emails and they ain’t hacked one!
