Is it safe to drink something hot too?

The part that you drink from is stainless steel. Similar to a thermos flask. It can be removed from the outside part for cleaning. I can't see any reason why a hot liquid would harm it.

Is the inner stainless steel removable?

Hi Sorry for delay just seen your message. Yes the tankard does come with a removable stainless steel inner. I bought this as a gift for my son -in-law and he loves it. I would definitely recommend.
