Night riding in the Utah Sand Flats - Excellent light!!
I mistakenly received a used unit and desperately needed a light for a camping/riding trip to the Utah Sand Flats/Moab. I decided to take the light since I could not reveive a replacement in time. Definitely a risk since the actual condition of the light functioning as designed was unknown. Charging and testing were flawless and last night was our first midnight ride on a 14 mile run thru Slick Rock. The attachment to the handle bar was problematic in the beginning because the round screw nut and clamp kept coming loose. That problem was resolved with tape and some additonal tightening and it stayed in place for the remainder of the ride. This light is excellent! The center spot beam concentrated most of the luminocity forward but the peripheral lighting was more than adequate to see and avoid the many natural (and in some cases unatural) obstacles on the path. Only the medium setting was required since the light reflected quite well off this type of rock. Our total trip was over 7 hours, stopping along the way to enjoy the silence of darkness at its best. Only turned the light off a couple of times while resting and enjoying it all. I used the high setting for the last couple of miles and the brightness exceeded needs and expectations. I was asked a few times about the make, model and manufacturer and would highly recommend this light for mountain biking. We compared brightness, side lighting, weight, etc. and this light was as good or better than a few of my friends more expensive brands. And NO. I am not a paid reviewer but a real world customer and Mountain Biker! Our next ride should be interesting since there will be many more trees and foilage on the path.Update: Just returned from a 4 day camping and biking trip and this light has been exposed to a variety of mountain biking trails including a couple of splashes and too many bone shaking vibrations. It is critical to protect the connection to the battery if riding in rain or navigating water. It must also be carefully secured to the handle bar to prevent movement. I really like this light and had no problems after 2 seven hour and 1 eight hour ride using only the medium and high settings. Used the high setting exclusively thru twisty downhills with rocks and trees along trails no wider than 2 meters at any point. Definitely passed the brightness, visibility and battery longevity test and never had to resort to my flashlight hack. I also discovered 2 of my biking partners paid 4 times the amount for their lights with no obvious application advantages when night riding. Get a coule of these lights and enjoy the thrill and beauty of riding thru nature at night. On a side note, the customer service was beyond excellent! I worked with Emily who was very informative and resolved the fulfilment issue with no questions asked. I was allowed to keep the light and at this point I am very thankful I have it for the remainder of this trip. Three more nights of midnight riding! Can’t wait....hope I don’t have to use my backup flashlight rig :0(Update: This is one ass-kicking little light. The more I use it the more I’m impressed. I have now tested all that is needed for riding trails in total darkness and this “little” light performs way better at 1200 Lumen than some at 2400 lumen. Go figure. You will not be disappointed...

Bright as hell
Wow this light bright. Took it first time to some trails today and it lights up 100+yards of the trail in front of me enough time to react and adjust to it. Also, one guy stopped me and was like damn thats bright I thought you was ridin a motorcycle at first from a distance. He soon realized it was a bike light lol. I told him this was on amazon for 30 bucks and he was shocked. Im pretty sure hes going to buy one now (also told him what its called so yeah). Battery lasted well everything stayed secured in through a bumpy ride. Also the tailight and head strap it comes with also nice. This is a overall good kit i would definitely buy this again.

Better than others in this price range but 1 minor flaw
I've gone through a number of bike headlights in this price range and this one seems to top them all in terms of light intensity, battery life, and general functionality. Note that I never ride at night and use it in blink mode exclusively as a "be seen" light during daytime hours. The intensity is way better than other lights in this price range. When riding in darkened conditions, such as tree-covered roads on cloudy days and late in the day, it's fun to watch all the traffic signs "light up" ahead of me. Battery life is adequate. I get about 4 hours on blink mode before it goes completely dim. It would be nice if it was more, but you won't find any light this bright with much more life. The one flaw in the product is that the USB cord from the light to the battery pack has no locking clip or other securing device. What happens is the plug will slowly slip out, especially if the ride is bumpy, and the light will go out. There should be a locking clip or something to hold the plug securely in place. What I did was wrap the velcro strap around the connection part of the cord when attaching the battery pack to the stem and that seems to keep the cord from falling out.

This is a great light!
Can we say HOLY BRIGHT LIGHT BATMAN. I've been seeing a lot of these super lights with the extended battery pack. You have to have a trade off somewhere, a nice compact sleek light will not have very high lumens, but having the larger battery pack delivers more power to the light for a higher lumen. That being said, I took a chance and ordered this, and I'm very happy with it.Some people may not like having the battery pack strapped to the bike, but I have no problem with it. It's small and out of the way, and I almost don't notice it anymore. The light itself is very bright, and I'm happy it comes with 3 brightness settings. When the light is on, push and hold the button to activate the strobe. When I ride I tilt this light down slightly. I can still illuminate the roadway but I'm not shining 1000 lumens into oncoming driver's faces.Don't ever buy battery-powered lights! These USB rechargeable deals are the best! Usually they last a good 5 hours or so, and then you just plug it in when you get home. I have yet to charge mine after about 3 hours of riding in the dark, but it still seems to be at 100% brightness.
