Fitted one these to our washer and it has stopped the pipes banging. Easy enough to fit and does the job.

Has failed entirely to stop the water hammer. Hasn't made it worse but provided zero improvement.

Easy to fit. Can be fitted vertical or horizontal. Didn't quite get rid of the noise but did reduce it significantly.

I recently got a new washing machine and it made a terrible banging noise, after looking on google/you tube it turns out it is the speed the washing machine turns on/off the water causes something called 'Water Hammer' i ordered this as the ones from Screwfix and Toolstation were alot more expensive and looked the same.It was easy to fit, i just isolated the water supply, disconnected the hose from the back of the machine and then connected this to the machine and the water hose onto this also (it fits inbetween the washing machine and the hose), it took all of 5 minutes.The banging has now completly gone and it is nice and quiet when completing a cycle (well as quiet as a washing machine can be).overall a very good price and fixed my problem

Had a loud water hammer noise caused by my new washing machine. Thought I would try one of these noise arrestors and found it very easy to fit. Since fitting I have had on noise at all. Well worth trying.

This has not reduced any noise at all, an absolute waste of £17. save your money and track down where the pipe is rattling. Yet again another pointless item on the market, proposing that it does something.

Well made item, easy to fit, but I'm afraid it does not work, fitted to new washing machine but did not cure water hammer at all, waste of money.

I bought two for my washing machine and fitted one at each end of the flexible pipe; one on the machine and one on the tap end. It hasn’t cured the banging completely, but it is so much better than before and worth fitting the valves. The banging was so severe I had to run the tap in the bathroom whenever I used my washing machine which wasted water. The neighbours always knew when I had my washing machine on the banging was so loud. Now I can use my machine and it is hardly noticeable, just a slight thud. My only gripe, I can’t push my washing machine back against the wall because of the depth of the valve, I am considering fitting both valves at the tap end, joining them together inline.
