The sizing and 100% cotton paper quality make Arches a reliable workhorse. It won't pill up easily, it doesn't keep everything floating on top, and it gives plenty of time for wet-in-wet techniques. It handles mask far better than pulp paper and Stonehenge.I just wish Amazon would package it better for shipping. They use envelopes, so guess what -- corners get dinged. I've gotten watercolor paper through other shippers (like UPS and USPS) when sellers have used them, but when Amazon is doing the shipping, not so good. I'm going to start choosing sellers who don't use Amazon to stock and ship because I've had at least three pads of expensive paper bent on the corners. 'Nuf said about that.Great paper, careless shipping.

I like to mix mediums and this paper is perfect for that.

Excellent paper. A tad pricey, but what can you do? High quality paper will *always* be one of those dumb expenses for any artist who knows what a difference the right paper can make. And this is VERY good quality paper. I'm a cold-press person usually, but needed something smoother and more consistent for a recent commission. This absolutely should be your first consideration if you're looking for seriously quality paper. Also- for those who make frequent mistakes with graphite, this paper holds up well to all commonly used eraser types. Erasing a working-drawing or underlining is also no problem and does not bubble or bend the paper! :) 5 stars

After writing the review below, I received a no-hassle replacement pad. Immediatly checked the first sheet and it's just as wonderful as I expected the first time!! Hopefully, no issues in the future but, it's comforting to know that Amazon has such a great return policy!!Never had this happen. First sheet after wetting got spots all over it. Did not try to paint on it yet, but I'm sure this is old or insufficient sizing.Very happy with Amazon return policy. I should get another pack in the mail tomorrow. Instead of waiting a couple of weeks, I'll try a sheet from that package asap.Normally, I'm a big fan of Arches paper. Only have cold pressed and rough before this purchase. I'd really like to try the hot press and hope my next pad is okay.

Used for backgrounds for cards using distress oxide inks, spraying with water and diluted bleach for special effects. I then stamped my fairy stamps over. I love the smoothness of this paper for stamping. It also doesn't buckle much. (I don't tape the paper down as I work with it. The 5" x 7" size works great for my cards. I can cut lots from this pad with very little waste.)

I bought the paper as a gift for my son, who is learning watercolor. He has used it to produce his best work to date, and is delighted with its fine finish, which allows him to create the fine detail he sees in his mind.

Arches makes a lot of good quality paper products. I purchased this product per the recommendation of a professional artist to draw realistic subjects with pencil & charcoal even though this is a watercolor paper. Arches makes an excellent quality cold press watercolor paper that I have used many times. Recommended for serious hobbyist and artists for final projects due to the cost.

I've been using Arches Hot press and Cold press papers for years. I've used most every quality paper made and after 46 years of painting this is my go-to paper. It is expensive, but I highly recommend anyone starting out use high quality paper from day one. If you want to save money, use cheaper Cottman paints on quality paper.

Definitivamente es el mejor papel para dibujar un cómic. Soporta la tinta china (en grandes cantidades) y por supuesto, la acuarela. Ojalá pronto manejen otros tamaños de papel.

My alltime favorite paper. Love the smooth creamy surface. Use it for painting and drawing.
