Hello Hello (Books for Preschool and Kindergarten, Poetry Books for Kids)

I’ve been reading this book to my son since he was 4 months old. I trace the pictures and add sound effects. At two he knows the book by heart (sound effects included!) and can read it back to me! Beautiful illustrations, only a couple of words per page so it’s easy to follow…hands down one of the best children’s books out there.

My almost-3 and 7 year old both absolutely love this book - and so do I! :)Each time we read it together, we spot new and interesting elements in the illustrations (like how one animal rolls into the next page...a bit of foreshadowing!). Thea last pages are really interesting as they detail each animal which made an appearance in the book with a corresponding number - which tells you the animal's name and whether it is endangered, threatened, ok, etc. My son (who will turn 3 next month) wants me to read this over and over and over again. My daughter (7) said she loves this but "They All Saw A Cat" had more depth and was more interesting to her. I love this illustrator's Bugs and Beastly Babies books, but I think this one might be my personal favorite due to all the colors and animations on the animals' faces. This would make a great baby shower gift (with a name like Hello Hello -- and the book's beginning focus on black-and-white illustrations, which I think babies supposedly are most captivated by at first? Although the book quickly changes to colorful animals). It is also great for that 2-4 year old age with its focus on opposites - and older (5+) for learning the animal names. LOVE IT. I struggled with whether to buy this or take it out from the library, but I'm glad I bought it and now will buy They All Saw A Cat since I didn't realize what a huge impact that one had on my daughter. :)

Love the colorful pages full of animated animals with few words. Definitely would buy again

We have absolutely loved this book, it’s been a daily favorite for a week. Multiple times a day! The art is so beautiful and we enjoy all of the animals. The words are poetic and love the similarity comparisons between the animals throughout the story. Our 3 year old (and his parents) is a big fan! I even ordered another book by the same illustrator.

I bought this for my 1 year old granddaughter because of the simple pictures of the animals. As we have read it over and over we found the connections from page to page and the animal information entertaining. My daughter and I spent half an hour pouring over the illustrations and making connections without the toddler! My granddaughter has self titled the book "Anda - Ebra" she scurries to the shelf to find it to have us read it again and again!

This book is so cute! The bright colored bold pictures really keep my infant interested and the different animals keep my 3 year old engaged. I love the message and the key at the end of all the animals. My son likes to pick an animal for us to look up more information on. He is really learning a lot. It is a great starting point for a lot of activities for older children and also a great book for babies because of the short dialogue and bright pictures. Truly a book that everyone in the family will adore. Very well done! Will be gifting it often.

This is a good book for babies and up to 3 year olds. Every page has lots of different animals and groups of animals. The illustrations are beautiful. But, word-wise, every page is very similar. "HELLO, big" "Hello, small" "Hello stripes)...et al. So read it to your small tikes. Once they start approaching independent, imaginative play, this book is irrelevant, unless they enjoy memorizing small books to read to you, which some kids like to do.

The illustrations are stunning and I love that there is a list of all the species throughout the book at the end. 8 month old loved looking at the pictures and I'm sure it'll hold his interest for years to come!

Beautiful images of animals that awake curiosity of children and parents. After a first lookout my two years old grandson stopped at one of the the images and asked “What does the Pangolins eat?”

This fantastic book is ideal for young learners of English .

Hello Hello is one of the most interestingly illustrated books we own. It starts simply enough, with a black cat and a white cat, but as you progress through the book you encounter a delightful array of fantastic, real, creatures from all over the earth! The text is simple and fun, I enjoy reading this one aloud to our toddler and she loves looking at the unique creatures! Highly recommend for 2-6 year olds.
