Footy-No-More
UPDATE: (02 Aug 2016)I have a new horse now who i am transitioning to barefoot. He has had some recent issues with footiness and is a bit pulsey. I'm not in a position to create the perfect environment for him (let's face it - who is ?!) but its pretty good with minimal grass and adlib hay - 24/7 turnout ... etc etc.Anyway I wndered whther i should try him on an anti-inflammatory and then thought of Naturebute - so decided to give it a try. Milo did not like my first attempt as i threw the full dose in some chaff and it was really too much. (silly me) so over a few days i started with 5ml 3 times a day then 10ml 3x p day then when we got to about 15ml morning and night - and i added about 10ml not long after breakfast he was lapping it up. after 10 days of this i saw a noticable change. pulses were right down and stones weren't too much of an issue - he stood better on the concrete to have his feet seen too. So yet again this product has amazed me.Early days and it may change, but i'm pretty sure there is a link here.UPDATE: (Feb 2014)My lad was doing really well last year and because of circumstances - and the awful wet weather we've had - I've had to move him a few times over the winter. I had him on the maintenance dose (25ml) for all of winter, but he suddenly went downhill about 2 weeks ago. Lost weight, was cribbing loads and even had light colic last week. He has always had underlying inflammation issues and none of these symptoms would have been unusual before I discovered NatureBute. I decided then to increase the dosage to 50ml again and am pleased to say he has perked right up again and eating "like a horse" again. So I still rave about this product - even a year later. Just be sure to monitor the dose for your particular horse. One thing I noticed with my latest delivery. The ingredients have changed slightly - they have added turmeric. I don't see this as an issue - just hope it works as well as the previous product. Turmeric is also a well known anti-inflammatory suppliment, so it should work well assuming Boswellia and Turmeric are happy to work side by side.ORIGINAL POST: (May 2013)I have a 17yr old gelding who has quite a few health issues. Because of this he is also prone to footiness which is often related to hindgut function. I already have him on Yea-Sacc which has definitely helped the gut, but he was getting really sore in his feet lately.I decided that if i put him on a painkiller - even temprarily - it will allow him to move about more easily thereby getting the circulation going which is good all round anyway. However, i didn't want something that was harsh on the gut. The chemical painkillers are not gut-kind and I believe Devils Claw isn't either - and then i found references Boswellia !! it is mostly used for joints and arthritis, but i thought i'd give it a go. can't harm.So many to choose from, but as a tincture is supposedly fast acting - i decided to go with this one. in liquid form. I was scared to give full loading dose in case it didn't agree with him, but a few days in i already noticed less footiness and so i up'd the dose to 50ml a day - 25ml morning and 25ml at night. i did this for about 7 days and i was gob-smacked at the difference in him.of course he still walks carefully over stoney ground - always will do as he's barefoot with a footy history, but he's not sore and i am so pleased at how he steps out now on a hack (booted, but even in boots and pads he was showing discomfort before) Also, his legs are prone to filling - so he lives out 24/7 and one leg is particularly prone to this even while living out. And now after a few weeks on NatureBute Solution (25ml per day now) I have to say that i have never seen this 'fat' leg look so good. it is so narrow it almost matches the other one!We have our ups and downs healthwise, but I have a good feeling about this as his feet have always been a worry and now he's showing me he's comfortable.Horse feeling ouchy? I'd definitely recommend you try this.UPDATE:I have recently tried my horse on the powdered form and he wasn't too keen on the taste, so my advice is if you want to try Boswellia and he doesn;t like the liquid - try the powder or vice versa.

Unsure!!
Not sure how to rate this as my horses seemed more comfortable physically but they both coughed a lot after eating their food. My other mare who isn't on it did not cough at all, hence my linking it to the supplement. I have stopped using it because of this and gone back to Devil's Relief to see if there is a difference.

NatureBute A Product that works
Ive been using NatureBute for a while now, the quality of Boswellia is extremely high i have in the past bought elsewhere & had not so good a quality, which also meant the results for the horses where variable.I use NatureBute for my Adv Dressage horse & i find it invaluble, i switched a few months back from the powder to the solution & i was even more impressed.I have 3 horses on the solution now including a 28yo TB who due to his age does suffer with some Arthritis. I was amazed at how quickly the Solution worked & how little you need to feed. Within 2 days of being on the solution we saw marked changes in all of the horses on it. My Dressage horses are more supple & taking longer strides & working over there backs quicker. The 28yo is acting like a 2yo happy cantering, bucking & leaping around like a lamb in spring. Why i like NatureBute over other natural products like Devils Claw is it's safe on the stomach & gut, my Adv horse is also an Ulcer sufferer & we simply cant feed anything that is harsh on his system. He suffered a severe Field injury a few years back we are lucky he came back to ridden work & we feel he needs supporting, NatureBute does this & works.I simply cant recommend NatureBute enough, Pegasus Health is a fabulous company to deal with fast deliverys & the Products are first rate i know i wont ever buy Boswellia for any other company now. If your lucking for a product to help your horse be it Arthritis or just simple stiffness give NatureBute a go.

Having heard fabulous things about this product, I decided to order some for my arthritic mare. My mare isn't a fussy eater (think "Labrador" type appetite) but point blank refused anything containing the nature Bute liquid. We've tried mixing it/masking it with everything we can think of but to no avail. I'll give the powder a go but I'm not hopeful.

Five Stars
Excellent product :)) tried the powder but sadly my mare doesn't like the smell or taste, so the liquid is the best first choice. I really recommend it, and I've had the majority of Pegasus products and have never been disappointed !

Excellent alternative to Bute
My ex-racehorse is prone to gastric ulcers so I avoid bute or products with devils claw as these can be gastric irritants. NatureBute is the best alternative. As he needs 50mg a day it is working out quite expensive though. I would recommend using Pegasus Health for products and good service.

works excellent on one horse, didn't make any different with other one.
