Thursday Cottage Cherry Curd, 310 g

I never do reviews. But this deserves an excellent one. Delicious. Bit pricey but so nice.

I had never even heard of Cherry curd, but good old amazon fresh brought it up as a suggested replacement for an out of stock item not even remotely similar - the suggestions are normally a cause for laughter but for once I am glad for the bizarre suggestion.A really good taste of cherries, and as with other curds plenty of sugar and eggs, so not those on a diet. This has a really rich almost decadent flavour and will be purchased again.The added bonus for me is that my partner adores cherries but is diabetic, so if I want a few hours peace then I can eat it in front of her and then she won't speak to me.

Purchased for a friend. She loved the flavour and consistency. Would recommend.

This curd is really lovely. The only issue is with the packaging. I’ve ordered two on separate occasions and both times the lid has been damaged very slightly and the safety button is up. How do I tell Amazon this without returning it? I just want the packaging improved. It only happens with the cherry version! The ginger version comes packed in bubble wrap and has no damage. It’s fine if you want to eat it immediately, but no good if you want to give it away as a present.

I love this curd and put it in victoria sponge cakes ...and chocolate cakes gives my cakes an expensive decadent taste ....

For some time now we have adding lemon curd to plain greek yoghurt, thus making a lemon curd flavour at a fraction of the cost charged by the big manufacturers. The problem is I was getting a little tired of lemon and wanted a change. Enter Thursday cottage - who have made some enticing alternative flavours. So far we have tried the Blood orange and this Black Cherry, and I have to say they are BOTH excellent!Mix a spoon of either with yoghurt - and if you want to be indulgent, a small touch of cream and you have an instantly delicious desert which won't break the bank.As an experiment I also tried making a cherry curd tart - and I have to say the result was superb! I'm not that keen on Lemon Curd Tart as it always seems a bit too pungent - but the black cherry produced a fantastic result, which was like an up-market traditional american cherry pie.So yes I definitely recommend this - and if you have the opportunity why not try the Blood orange too?

Absolutely love this, such a different flavour, good texture and although expensive it's worth it.

Arrived within a few days. Was really excited to try this as i love cherries. Unfortunately i didn't enjoy it. I don't know whether it didn't travel well or if this is the usual texture but it was like a thick stretchy gloopy consistency, and the citric acid ingredient gave it a cherry sherbet taste, rather than a curd.
