Great product despite the smell
This is the best stuff to get grease spots off of your clothes or whatever. Sometimes a bad stain takes two try’s, but it will remove the stain. It does have a strong smell, but you do not smell it on your clothes after they have been washed.

An old, reliable workhorse still cuts through grease, ink, paint and other problem messes with ease - A must have cleaner.
As a child, I remember my mother always kept a bottle of Lestoil by the utility sink in the basement. I don’t know what she used it for, but I always associated it with a big mess and a lot of yelling. As a teen, I discovered the ease with which Lestoil removed engine grease from auto parts, my clothes and skin. And as a young adult entering the workforce, I used it to remove an ink stain from a pen that had burst in the pocket of one of my favorite white dress shirts. The stain was only a couple of hours old, but all it took to completely eradicate it was treating it with a little Lestoil, rinsing, then laundering it with Tide. The stuff was magic – I remember visualizing how it went to work chopping up the bits of ink and carrying them away and there was absolutely no trace of ink left by the time the shirt was washed. Sure it smelt a little bit like kerosene and dried your skin out, but what a small price to pay for the items it saved and the ease with which it worked. Then it disappeared for some reason. In found myself periodically confronted with a cleaning chore that the cleaners currently available handled poorly and wishing for a bottle of Lestoil to make it easier. The company was bought out by the Clorox Company and Lestoil is currently only produced for Walmart stores in Puerto Rico, for some reason.I snatched a bottle immediately when an Amazon search turned up a result and eagerly awaited it. I can’t say for sure of the formula is the same or if Clorox has tampered with it – the smell is pretty much the same, perhaps a bit milder and I did not have exactly the same success with several items, although it performed better than any currently in my arsenal of cleaning products. I first treated a raw wood table with several stains from oil-based paint that have had ample time to set and cure. After letting it sit on the stains full-strength for ten minutes, I was able to remove the paint with nothing more than a wet sponge. Then I used it to soak some vinyl mini blinds with oil paint splatters diluted and let the blinds sit in the diluted solution overnight. I would say about 75 percent of the paint was automatically gone by morning. About half od what was left easily sponged off. I don’t know for sure if the rest would have come off easily with a brush and some hot water but I was in too much of a hurry. So I am happy with this purchase and it is as good as I’m going to find now, but I plan on keeping a bottle on hand at all times, because nothing cuts through ink, grease, paint and other nightmares better or more safely.

Got out years old oil stains!
I have this amazing aunt who does all sorts of crafty things like needle art of various kinds, crocheting, and (my favorite!) sewing. She's made blankets for each of my 5 children which are very loved. And anyone with a small child knows that with the love of a child for a fabric item comes stains! One of my daughters had a lovely little tied quilt made of a polyester flannel backed with microfleece which she'd carry around and had somehow gotten something oily on it, leaving several large oil stains, about 2-3 years ago. I tried my best to get the stains out- dish soap with hot water and a tooth brush, laundry pre-treatments, washed on extra hot when I had to prep some cloth diapers but nothing worked so I resigned myself to living with the stains.Until Lestoil! I'd read some reviews and thought it sounded like some pretty good stuff, so I added it to my sub and save order which arrived a few days later. I tried the lestoil on a few things; mopping floors turned out well, Lestoil and very hot water took up some grease marks on our stove that I was sure would be there forever, then I took it to the laundry room. I hadn't bought the Lestoil with my daughter's quilt in mind, but while gathering a load of wash to join a much more minor and fresh oil stained shirt that I'd pre-treated with Lestoil, I saw it sitting in a basket and figured I'd give it a whirl. Both items looked okay coming out of the washer so moved on to the dryer. The shirt came out of the dryer spotless as expected after how well Lestoil had cleaned the stove grease. The blanket came out much better than I had hoped for such a long standing stain! There are still some shadowy looking marks where the stains were but if you didn't know a giant oil stain had been there, you couldn't pick it out as having been one, let alone a stain that sat and got baked in by the dryer over and over for years!I was a little worried about using this in my HE front load washer but I didn't see many suds at all. And after the first attempt, if the stain seems to be gone and no additional treatment is required, I do rewash the clothes with my regular detergent because I don't care for the smell of this stuff on my clothes. It's not offensive, a bit like Pine Sol, just not a "clean clothes" scent to me.

Save $ - buy Pine-sol
Listoil was recommended for cleaning capabilities, especially with grease in clothes. I bought it for that purpose, but when I got it, I realized it’s just like Pine-Sol. So I did a little research, and yes, indeed… So while it is very effective, and it did its job, I think I could’ve saved a lot of money by buying a really big bottle of Pine-Sol.
