Shouldn't buy if complete beginner.
If you are looking for something which can move like, microorganisms, bacteria, etc. This is not the one.The eye piece lenses are not clear. One of them had scratch on inside. Be ready to buy extra dyes/slide preparation kit.If you are thinking for gifting, make sure he/she is in like 10th class(indian education) and higher.. overall - ok experience, but returning it.

Good one for my kid
Good one for my kid. 10X and 40X objectives are good for viewing the school level objects. I could see the joy on face of my son when he 1st saw blood cells or plant cells with clear nucleus! I just wanted to see his feelings! It could be better to include a cover for microscope. Overall, the microscope is suitable for general purpose at school level and the fun/learning depends on the quality of slide materials. I suggest to include 5-10 prepared slides along with this set.

Fantastic product for students
. This is a quality product. The light attachment was slightly defective, but it is a minor thing. Lens are world-class and sufficient for the students who are likely to use this. This was meant as a gift to a nephew, but will certainly buy a couple more home and for my other nephews and nieces.

awesome tool to excite a 9 year old into microscopic things
Over all build of the scope is much better than what I expected for the money that I paid. And, their LED light source is awesome. I teach to Masters level students, and I can easily replace those fancy microscopes in labs with this one. Lenses are of reasonable quality. Coarse and fine focusing ratchet is very good. The model that I bought, has a 40X objective and 15 x eye piece - decent enough even for a high school grade kid. Definitely a 'I recommend to buy'.

This is a good microscope
This is a very good microscope. It contains two eyepieces and two objective lenses. The electronic light, however, is not that sturdy and it comes loose without warning sometimes. The microscope is very strong and sturdy, and it can be used to view various things, ranging from red blood cells to very small organisms such as fungi.
