Absolutely brilliant - best buy ever
I broke my back on 12th July after a heavy fall, had emergency spinal fixation and was left unable to bend and dealing with severe pain. This has been hugely challenging, physically and emotionally. This grabber was the best £8.99 I spent in my life. It's very lightweight, but feels sturdy and robust. It's very easy and comfortable to use, and can reliably pick up things as small as a cotton bud or a button, but is also strong enough to lift a sneaker, or a full handbag. The prongs are the perfect size and the rubber ends grip securely. Slightly risky, but I've even had enough confidence in it to remove full size dinner plates and mugs from the dishwasher!! Putting shoes and socks on is difficult, and I've used it to put on and pull up my socks!! It confers dexterity as well as strength - I can position the prongs of a plug in the socket and nudge the plug into place with my foot.I take it with me wherever I go, at the moment. You don't realise how often in a day you drop things until you are no longer able to pick them up. This item has made a huge difference to my morale and recovery, saving me from frustration and helping to restore independence. Delighted to support a small business in the UK as well.Thank you, absolutely wonderful buy 🙏

Keeps hold of things but you have to have a good grip for heavier items!
Keeps hold of things but you have to have a good grip for heavier items!! It's plenty long enough so that's a bonus. The magnet picked up lightweight scissors! ✂️ I bring my milk and eggs in with it from my front door (milkman). But it takes a good grip for the large milk container even though it has a handle. I've dropped a few things with it until I got the hang of squeezing the handle tight for heaver items. My ikea one is shorter but has a good C shape and grip without having to squeeze the handle too much. They are different and good in different ways. This one bends in the middle (don't push both sides, just one side does it) but I haven't really needed it adjusted to the 2 bent positions. It would probably be very handy if you are stuck in bed. This picks up papers and tiny objects without any problem. It's not so good at picking up small throws or large cardigans as it feels awkward in the hand for those. Anything rounded it doesn't like! I can't pick my mobile phone up with it (it's in a clear plastic case) and it doesnt like to pick up cutlery. Generally I'm happy with it as it picks up my crutches or most things I've dropped. It also squeezes into small spaces should you drop something down the side of the fridge etc! I'm on my own after a 2nd hip replacement and I've used it a fair bit, so yes it has been helpful. Oh, and it is brilliant for helping to get your trousers on!! I haven't used the shoe horn part as my long ikea one does that plus the ikea one has a hooked end which works for lifting the milk inside the house easier than any grabbers!

Great for users who are immobile
Great product. Really helped my elderly relative who isn't mobile to pick up things easily from their chair. Was able to pick up heavy items easily and no pressure on their hand by using the handle.

No good for thin things
I've had this for some time now and frustration has made me bin it now because it just doesn't live up to the hype. The actual prongs that pick pick up do not meet flat on, only the very tips of them meet. So it's ideal for picking up large things like paper cups, bunches of fabric or rope even. But try to pick up a letter that's dropped to the floor or a puppy pad and it's useless. I have ended up having to bend to pick them objects up which is not easy for me as I am disabled and the whole point of getting this product was to make life easier, it doesn't. So I am going to try another brand to see if that picks up single sheets of paper and puppy pads more easily. If the prongs met flat on so all the pads met it would be brilliant. You can't bend them to make them fit because I tried. Infact I tried again today and one of the prongs have broken so that prompted me to write this review and find an alternative product. Other than not being suitable for picking up flat things like paper or puppy pads it's very well made. A good length to reach and comfortable to hold as it's nice and light yet robust. What a pity the actual 'grabber' part isn't as good as one would expect.

Couldn’t manage without it.
This is the third litter picker I have bought as being disabled, I like to have one in every room.. this one though came with a hidden surprise, a tiny magnet which has already proved itself invaluable for recovering paper clips and hair grips, and the like, but I no longer have to scrabble around on the floor and then battle to stand up again as my new friend, Magnus Magnet takes care of it for me. Of course the overall picker-upper takes care of endless other things too, but I have to say, the magnetic tip is a game changer. If you’re like me, and find reaching for things generally a challenge, think about treating yourself to one of these little gizmos. I wouldn’t be without mine. Worth every penny.
