Good Quality for Lake Boats
It was a real pain to find properly made Transom Tie-Down straps online, even from online boat stores. There is a bit of a racket at local stores where these products are marked way up. When I found these, I was a bit nervous the quality might be not so great, but Seamander had good reviews overall. The result? Quite happy with them. The stitch quality is very good, the rubberized coating on the hooks is nice and thick, and the clamps seem to have a good quality powder coat.We are using these on to tie down the back-end of our 15ft fishing boat that we take to the lake, so wear and tear on these will be pretty low and I expect they will last a long time. The clamping mechanism doesn't have a bunch of fiddly little parts that will break, and its far enough down from the hooks that it hasn't rubbed on the boat (this is really important if you're transporting by road).Overall, really happy with these so far. Keep in mind that this is not an ocean-faring boat, so if you're exposing these straps (or any straps, really) to seawater, that you need to RINSE the straps with fresh water if you expect them to last and maintain their integrity.
