Q: How strong is this elastic? Need something between tactical nylon and full elastic.

I don't know what the criteria for "tactical" is, but these belts are very stiff. I had another brand previously and it had a lot more give to it which was nice in the beginning, but it wore out quickly. I've had these for about two weeks now and they seem to be very good quality. One thing, the buckle is harder to close than the other brand belt.

Q: can we choose the belt colors if the two desired don't come as a pair? I would love a 1.75 wide stretchy belt.

I don't believe you can pick your own colors, I think you can only pick from what they have selected.
