Belkin Mini Bluetooth 4.0 USB Adapter - Grey

I bought this Belkin bluetooth adapter for my Windows 8.1 laptop and was shocked to discover that it does not work on my machine because Belkin has not even bothered to update the driver to run on 8.1 operating systems! Belkin is an internationally leading tech company but they don't bother to update their drivers to run their hardware on the most modern PC operating system used by millions of people around the world!? Why is this a problem for Belkin? After a phone call to their tech support I was told that they would forward my request to their engineering department to update their drivers. Then after a long wait on hold I was transferred to their customer service department, where I finally was told that they would contact Amazon to try to arrange a refund from Amazon. To Belkin's credit, their customer service department did follow up with Amazon like they said they would, and I received a call back the next day to confirm that Amazon would refund my purchase price. But this is just so unnecessary! Why won't Belkin just update their driver?And this also points up an issue I have with Amazon: Amazon's website should have stated that this adapter does not work on Windows 8.1 machines! All this would have been avoided had it been stated. I don't know if this is a problem with Amazon knowing it doesn't work and not advertising that fact, or Amazon NOT knowing it in which case I don't fault them so much. But in any case I expect Amazon to do its due diligence to inquire of the manufacturer what operating systems it runs on, and to advertise that fact.

Nothing but issues trying to get anything to connect. Every headset I've tried connects to my phone fine, but not this Belkin usb adapter. If I could rate with negative stars I would. Horrible product.
