Indoor/Outdoor Power Adaptor (for Stick Up Cam 3rd generation)

This item comes already with the plug in stick up cams, but does not come with the battery stick up cams.If you buy a battery stick up cam you will need one of these to use the camera plugged in. If you bought a plug in stick up cam already you get these cables included in the box, but without a battery 👍Massively overpriced to say the least.

I really just wanted a plug for the wall, say 5M of cable and then the end for the camera. What you get is an extension connector with a waterproof seal, and two different diameter cables.What baffles me is the “connector” piece. I could understand if it meant you could pass the cable through a drilled hole in a wall, but the end parts are far too big for this.I must be missing something! I passed the cable through a window - not perfect but what I needed to do. If I wanted to pass the cable through a wall, how would you do with without needing to cut the cable and then join it through a junction box?I have given 2 stars because it costs a lot, and more than half of the item is not needed for me. Very bad for the environment and needless waste.

Annoyingly, you cannot buy separately. That means your paying for a redundant indoor or outdoor cable too, so RING can charge more!I only used the indoor connector, works fines and you can buy a DC Power extension cable if need longer. But why would I give a good review when I would expect a power charger to work, but have had to buy it with a now redundant outdoor cable too!

This is not what’s pictured it’s only half of it, I bought this for my ring stick up cam only received this not rest of the cable like pictured in the listing.

Come with two leads one for inside one for out needed for out side no way of treading through door or window as to thick for a hole plug one end and attachment other had to use indoor one and hope it’s ok as lead was thinner

Disappointing, especially for outdoor use. The connector is too large to drill a hole into your house which means you need to feed the cable to an outdoor junction box. Not very practical for outdoor use as won’t look neat

We needed an external power supply for our stick up camera to avoid having to swap out batteries every couple of weeks or so. The option was either the solar panel or the 240v wired system. Having read other reviews with regard to the 240v hard wired PSU it was clear that it got mixed reviews and there was some confusion on what was included and what was required. However, for us, this was the preferred option as we could power it from a socket in our shed and not run the risk of the solar panel being damaged.So, what is in the “box” ? It comes with an inline AC to DC converter. This inline PSU also has fitted to it a 3pin UK mains plug (which can be removed). The length of the cable is about 2.5m (sorry - I didn’t measure it !!). It then has another cable (in the order of 3m - again I didn’t measure it). This cable attaches to the inline PSU by first removing the 3pin plug and then pushing the connector from the 3m cable into it. The inline PSU is then weather resistant and the complete length of cable is in then in the order of 5m - 5.5m). The removed 3pin plug is not required in this configuration as the 3m cable has a sealed 3 pin plug at the other end of the cable.So, for indoor use, the 3m cable isn’t required - the inline PSU plugging directly into a mains socket. If the cable needs to be longer or used outside, then the additional 3m cable is used to make the inline PSU suitable for use outside. This inline PSU can be attached to a wall or to a fence, etc using four screws (not supplied).I hope this helps to clarify what is included in this wired power supply for the stick up camera, etc.All in all the quality of all items is up to the normal high Ring standards. So far, I am very pleased with the kit as having now installed it I am able to use some additional features not supported in the “battery mode”.I hope this helps to clarify what this product is all about.
