Sony SU-WL850 Wall Mount Bracket for Sony Bravia TV's

There are cheaper wall mounts around, but I wanted this particular purpose-designed bracket that (a) would give me recourse in the unlikely event it should come apart and wreck my expensive new Sony OLED TV, (b) sit flush to the wall in the designed manner, and (c) avoid the possible hassles of fettling to make it all work together nicely.I'd originally ordered both TV and this mount together from a well-known high street store, but delivery went from 2-3 days to three weeks - after we were home to a large/expensive/boxed TV, so Amazon came to the rescue with a Sunday delivery in just a couple of days.Suffice to say, no major hassles, and the TV and bracket were unboxed, up on the wall and working in under an hour (with the steadying assistance of my partner).Conventional fixed wall mounts can usually be attached with 6mm screws, but this bracket really needs 8mm to be safe. This is due to weight leverage pulling on the upper screws when the TV is moved away from the wall. I also used 25mm dia penny washers to spread the load away from the screw heads which worked nicely, and be sure to blow all dust from inside drilled holes for a grippy plug fix!Although the recommendation is to install the TV on its base stand first to fit the rear hanger bar with the upper two screws on the back, this was avoided by leaving the TV rested in the lower part of the shipping box (box upper removed), and the hanger bar fitted in place while my partner steadied the TV. Just ensure the arrows on the bar are pointing up and you can't go wrong.

The Sony SU-WL850 Wall Mount Bracket impresses with its excellent build quality and slim design, ensuring a flush fit on the wall. Installation is straightforward. The only downside is the price, but it's a premium choice for Sony Bravia TVs.

I have plasterboard fixed to my block walls using Dot and Dab method (not covered in the installation instructions) so I fixed a gloss white kitchen door to the wall first (as walls are painted white) using 120mm frame fixings (as used to fit pvc windows/doors no need for raw plugs) This was to spread the load of the weight of the 75” tv I was going to hang on the bracket, as I was worried the weight would cause the bracket to pull/sink into the plasterboard and ultimately fail causing my new tv to come crashing down.5 fixings in the door at 120mm held that to the wall and I then used the same fixings when mounting the bracket to the board which then also fixed into the block work through the plasterboard thus giving 9 fixings at 120mm holding the door/bracket to the wall and spreading the load of the tv which is near 40kgs.Had no issues in 2 months so far.Cost of the bracket was the only disappointment but build quality is great.

This arrived on time and very well packed. It is of excellent quality - well engineered and strong. It allows the TV ( a Sony 77 inch AG9 OLED) to fit closer to the wall than any other bracket available. Installation is straightforward and gives easy access to cable connections on the rear of the TV. I think it would have been almost impossible to connect up the TV with the cables which are concealed in the wall and achieve an almost flush mounting without this bracket. Pity it is so expensive! But definitely recommended if you want the closest possible to the wall installation.

It’s a Sony product, not the cheapest, but quality. I had read reviews were folks had bought 3rd party wall-mounts, and then found that some of the hdmi/ports were obstructed - no worries here. Also chunky/solid; but, the design is such that your screen will be pretty flat to the wall.

This is an excellent tv bracket ( although very pricey).The TV looks great on the wall, but was disappointed that it did not come with all the screws etc - so be prepared to go get your own.Still a good buy and cheaper than high street

This does not fit ALL Sony Bravia TVs. I have the A series and I am past my return date (my installer was unavailable) and now I am left with a very expensive wall bracket that I have no use for.

Used to hang a 65inch Sony, this is a sturdy and well fitting bracket that makes it easy to fit the various cables and connectives. As one reviewer elsewhere has commented at this price it would be fair to expect some screws and fittings to enable the mounting of the bracket, but none of these are included. As a result, you will need to ensure you have sufficient and appropriate screws for your purpose. I used Rigidfix bolts specifically designed for dot and dab walls, to ensure the weight was carried in the brickwork, not the plasterboard.You will need to use a decent length spirit level to make sure this is straight, a very tiny difference in the bracket makes a big difference on a hung 65 inch tele!
