Jacques Herbin15556JT Jaques 1798 Anniversary Ink, Cornaline D'Egypt, 50 ml

This is the last Herbin Shimmer ink I need to have a complete set but this is the first one that does not shimmer and has no visible shimmer particles in the bottle. Something has gone wrong in manufacture. It is a plain purple with zero shimmer. I have shaken the bottle and written some test text and even under bright light, I cannot see any shimmer. Faulty product. Returning.Update: The replacement bottle was just the same and writes as a plain non-shimmer purple ink. There must be a faulty batch from Herbin. And yes, I did shake the bottle thoroughly.

It's a nice looking ink; very saturated colour, with a good shimmer.The silver sinks to the bottom very quickly and it needs a good shake to re-mix before filling.Biggest problem though is that the ink has caused clogging problems in every pen I've put it in - 2 Watermans, a Mont Blanc, and a Franklin Christoph, so I'm fairly sure it's an ink issue rather than being with a specific pen.

Even though i mixed it i couldnt see the shimmer which is really sad because it looks beautiful and packaging is gorgeous. I was a little sad that the wax top was scuffed and marked but im pretty sure it shouldnt be.

Really annoyed as I bought this thinking it would be a shimmering ink. Instead it is a very dark purple colour almost black with no shimmer. I don’t understand how it is so falsely advertised, I’m very disappointed by Amazon.

Beautiful intense colour saturation

It's much darker than in the picture. Can't really see the shimmering effect (though I can see the paillette in my transparent pen). It might be more visible if you are writing with a B nib.Overall very nice ink.

Lovely ink, the shimmer adds something a little different. Turns every piece of writing into an occasion, even if it’s just a shopping list. For maximum impact don’t forget to give it a shake before every use
