Helly-Hansen 53147 Men's Njord Parka

Very warm winter coat. Great hood. Waterproof. Highly recommend.

Nice color, nice feel, no chance to test it out in cold/wet weather because it just arrived and is at least a full size too small. I ordered an XXL and can barely zip it over a t-shirt. I am 6'2" and 268 pounds, chest 52, waist 42, normally wear an XXL. Sadly, HH doesn't make a larger size, so I'll be looking elsewhere for a nice parka.

Otherwise stay clear.The garment’s label that I carefully selected states: Large size, Regular.Well I’m “regular”, fit - but not buffed - 5'9” 170lbs and this thing fits, but barely so.Suitable perhaps for schlepping to/from work, but forget about any physically strenuous activities: it restricts from just about every corner.There is no room for layering either, and - since the jacket is not overly padded - one is limited to not much below freezing weather.The shell fabric has a pleasant, slightly silky sheen, but is also somewhat stiff and audibly crinkly.There two overlapping, left-side chest pockets: one exterior, one interior, but none on the right side.Hmm, whatever.Large, prominent print “Designed and developed Norway”, small print “Made in China”.Bought it at a discount $180, good quality craftsmanship, although not good enough for $300 plus regular price, imho.Regretfully, goes back.

I'm female and I ordered this coat because I like the way men's coats look and they are usually more durable. I'm 5'5" and around 125. a small is super cozy and has some room for a sweater if I want more layers. My only concern is the "waterproof" claim. I will be moving to iceland soon and I need something that can handle the cold and rain. I havent had the chance to fully test it but I did run a sleave under the tap. The water seemed to bounce right off but I did notice some spots that appeared to soak up water on the coat, which have me a little concerned about being caught out in the rain. But again I havent had the chance to fully test it. That being said I still really like it as a winter coat and I hope the waterproof claims hold up.

This is a well designed jacket that will keep you warm and dry in extreme conditions (-30C). Highly recommended!

Great HH parka - quality as you would expect warm water resistant and great value I got mine for sixty four quid on Amazon!

Looks great and keeps you warm and toasty! Can be zipped up to cover half your face so there’s almost no need for a scarf.. bunch of neat little features make it hard to beat; would buy it again!
