Lord of the Rings: Conquest - Nintendo DS

This is one of the best Lord of the Rings video games of them all.This is most similar to Aragorns Quest on PSP, The Two Towers and Return of the King on GBA, but totally unlike Lord of the Rings Tactics and The Third Age.Honestly I like this better than Aragorns Quest on PSP. The play is about the same. One moves, birds eye view, through maps fighting melee fights or firing arrows. A person captures a flag simply standing next to it waiting as the flag changes to his colour, blue for the forces of Gondor and red for the forces of Mordor.As enemies die, they collect orbs which extend their life which is pretty prosaic and mindless compared to the GBA video games where as enemies died you got such profound items as Numenorean swords, knives from Barad-Ur, elf weapons, Mithril ringmail, etc.This video game does off the chance to fight as an ent or giant walking tree as does Lord of the Rings tactics PSP.It also allows you the chance to fight as a troll or Sauron which is quite unique compared to the other handheld Lord of the Rings video games.At the end of each level, you collect badges but these badges are after the fact as they do nothing to give you any extra powers or abilities.It sucks that they stopped the PSP and the Nintendo DS Lite. The handheld video games that will be slated for the new Peter Jackson's The Hobbit movies will be presumably, only compatible with the PSP Vita and the Nintendo 3DS. I don't have those ones. I only have the PSP 3000 and the Nintendo DS Lite. Why should I bother spending $200 for a new PSP Vita plus another $200 for a Nintendo 3DS just to play a new Lord of the Rings or else a new STAR WARS video game?

Great game, though not as many battles as i would have liked,nice graphics, buy 2, if you can afford it,one for you one for your friend. i hear wifi is fun.

If you are a fan of Star Wars Battlefront, then you will love this title from Pandemic. Great button-masher, but get's a tad repetitive after a while. Give it a go, even on a 3DS. You won't be disappointed.

This was a gift for my nephew. He is 10yr and really likes it. Great price as well.

My 12 and 15 year old say it is a really cool game. The drawback being that there are not many levels.

Got this for my boyfriend for xmas and it arrived way before then :) he was very excited to get it and start playing. made for a very happy fiance

Bought this at our son's request for Christmas. He's already played thru the campaigns, which for an 11 year old is an accomplishment... heck for a 46 year old it would be too. Gotta borrow it.

I didn't really care for this game. I had tried similar games that were way better. It was just a so-so game.
