Nice USB cable, but design flaw leaks noise for me
Nice USB cable, clean and sleek looking, but a bit disappointing for my audio set-up. I was hoping the additional shielding would help remove some of the noise I get from a noisy HDD and a nearby UPS. Unfortunately, I when comparing this with a standard cable, the Pangea actually has more noise from the HDD than the standard one. I can only assume this is because the Pangea cable does not come with a ferrite core filter like most standard USB cables, and for that I really cannot understand why when almost all standard USB cables have one. Aesthetics? There was also some slight discoloration on the gold USB-B outer connector, nothing that a little polish wouldn't clean up though. Sadly, I may have to return this one.As far as sound goes, all of the source material sounds great, crystal clear as always. It seems like it may even cut down on the power noise coming from the UPS, but I can't tell for certain with the computer noise. I'm not a believer in any improvements coming from upgrading digital cables, but I didn't A/B this with a standard cable long enough to give an opinionI will say though, that shortly before purchasing this, I purchased some Pangea AC-14SE power cables and could not be happier. These actually did reduce the noise interference in my system, and I will be purchasing more of them. I hope they improve their USB cable design for the future.

A really good and inexpensive way to increase the quietness of your music and darken the background. Better interconnects do make a difference. I was offered 8k dollar speaker cables at another extinct high end stereo shop. It made me smile, and almost pass out. Diminishing returns, and helping out too much to cover the stores overhead caused me to decline. What I could buy to upgrade my current component(s) would far outpace any good 8k cables could

A Nice Expensive USB Cable
This is an attractive and sturdy USB cable. Does it make add a tonal warmth and richness to female vocalists? Well, no, because it's a USB cable. Try as I might, it sounds the same as the comparable part that cost a few cents. But, it costs a couple of orders of magnitudes more, is clearly well built from a physical standpoint, and looks nice. If that's what you're looking for, you'll get what you paid for. And, as with all of these things, you can feel good that while you spent a fortune on a USB cable, you could have spent a much bigger fortune but you didn't!

Amazing
I've always been of the opinion that a USB cable is a USB cable, that is transmits 1s and 0s, no more, no less. Either the bits are there, or they're not. I've never understood how anyone can argue with that. I still don't know how one can argue with that.Which is why I am confounded to report...my perception of a subtle but unmistakeable improvement in the sound I'm hearing from my gear since switching from a basic, good condition USB cord to this Pangea audio USB cord.Must be a placebo effect? I don't know. Whatever it is, I am one happy camper.

I initially wasn't quite sure, after dconsiderable break in, they opened up.
I was waiting and waiting to hear them open up, finally they did somewhat. I actually expected to hear a more clear presentation since they are OCC type wire. I have made my own cables with OCC and they beat these in some ways. Overall, they do not justify the original price, at the discount price they a good buy.

No difference between this and generic USB cable
I heard absolutely no difference using this USB cable and a generic one that came with one of my devices. While this cable does appear to be better built and likely has better shielding than a cheapy generic one, unless you are currently getting interference with another cable, this is not a cable that will noticeably improve the audio at all. At least his was my experience after many hours of listening tests. If you are however getting interference with your current USB cable, this cable may be worth a try.

Great Cable, Very Reasonable Price
OK, I get the whole voodoo snake oil thing, discussions about words used like; multilayered, transparencey, openness, tactile, warm, airy etc. Even if all you ever do is listen to Pandora, Just do this; Order one in any length, connect your headphone amplifier or DAC. Put on your headphones, plug it in and just listen. If it makes you smile or the next thing you realise is its 2:00 AM and you still do not want to go to sleep... Well, nuff said.

Pangea usb is well constucted and sells for a fraction of some well know cable manufacturers. This is for computer audio.
This is my first forray into a higher end cable for computer audio. While I have spent much more money on rca and speaker cables I wasn't interested in spending a large amount of money for a usb cable. I was comfortable with spending $40. for a well constructed cable and this is exactly what you get. There are now usb cables that sell for a few dollars to well into a few thousand. I feel this cable is a very good value.
