Total steal
I loved these so much that I bought a second pair with the 4 year warranty option. As other reviewers mentioned, getting a good fit may be a bit tricky and you might have to go up one size. If you are experiencing bass problems, its not the headphones - its the tips. There should be plenty silicon tips included in the package to achieve a good fit - if not, a separate purchase of silicon tips should be able to fix that. The two pairs of Comply foam tips (included) should also help. However there are some considerations regarding 3rd party foam tips (see below)The sonic characteristics are almost perfect. They still have some bass boost (around 5db) but its about half of typical mainstream headphones (10db) and 1/3 of "basshead" ones. I find this to be just the right amount to completely avoid bass bloat and keep midrange clarity while still enjoying some kick. Treble is nice and clean and recessed just enough to avoid sibilance and create slight warmth. Mids are crystal clear. The only two minor flaws are:* a 4db peak around 5KHz. You can also think of this as a dip of 4dB at 3.5KHz followed by a return to "normal" at 5KHz. I'm sensitive to such upper-midrange peaks, but I don't feel a need to fix this particular peak with an EQ. Instead, *ideally* I would've preferred that there was no 4dB dip at 3.5KHz, however the difference is barely noticeable (1) with some music (e.g. electric guitars) and impossible to notice with most other music.* upper treble may be a bit too recessed. A boost of 6db above 12KHz adds some airiness at the expense of treble fatigue during long listening and some loss of intimacy, so its a tradeoff. However the boost may become necessary when the headphones are used with some memory-foam tips (both of the included Comply foam tips don't seem to suffer much from this, but 3rd party tips like e.g. Veritas Memory Foam do)Other than that, they're perfect in my opinion. Taking the 40GBP price of the blue model into consideration, they're a total steal.Edit: forgot to review the non-audio aspects. The shallow fit and angled nozzle result with great comfort - its not possible to fit them too deep since the earphone body ensures that they're always at the same depth. Thanks to the semi-open back they can be taken out of the ear without causing the typical unpleasant "vacuum" effect. The length of cable is adequate and the materials seem strong enough to withstand continued abuse. A decent-quality microphone and a single-button remote can be found on the left side of the cable (there are no volume buttons on the remote). One minor flaw: the fancy glossy ceramic-like finish of the body can get dented by sharp objects (e.g. keys in the pocket) and if that happens, the dent is further susceptible to peel-off (if large enough). I've only had the headphones for a few months, and plan to update the review after half a year with the state of the two dents I managed to create on my first pair.(1) barely noticeable meaning that the difference is noticeable if you quickly toggle EQ between the two settings. Otherwise the ear adjusts and compensates pretty quickly.

Excellent
I bought these having wanted a step up from more basic in ear phones and the uncomfortable Apple ones. Sound quality and comfort are important to me as I use headphones roughly 3 hours a day on the commute to work and back. The comfort and fit took some experimenting with. One of the reasons I took the plunge with these was the great size options with the ear buds, 5 pairs silicone and 2 pairs foam. Unfortunately the foam ones did not fit comfortably at all, but I have a good fit in the silicones and there is little if any movement. The sound immersion surprised me. Coming from budget Seinnheiser and mid level Monsters the difference was big. I hear little interference when walking by main roads in rush hour or chatter on public transport. The sound overall is fantastic with great bass and treble. A good blend, not one overpowering the other that I experienced with other brands. The only criticism that I have is that as others have mentioned........to get the full feature/sound from these you have to have the volume up loud. Otherwise the bass goes missing. I frequently have my iPod on near maximum. If it wasn't for this I would easily have given 5 stars.Highly recommended.

Good, but not great
These headphones are pretty good. They produce a nice, clear and neutral sound. They look great (to me at least), and the cable length is perfect for use with a computer/laptop.The downside is they lack a little punch on the low end - the bass seems somewhat lost, especially around the 50hz range. Also, getting them to sit deep enough in your ears to create a seal can be difficult, even after experimenting with the range of bud shapes and sizes provided. They stay in, just not far enough so I can hear the full spectrum and block out a lot of external sound. If I push on them gently, I suddenly realise what I'm missing out on.So these do the job, but could certainly do with improvement.

Inferior quality product! Stay away from this!
These earphones sounds thin, without bass and impact. In comparison with other brands cheaper earphones i got, these are inferior, and i wouldnt buy this item even if this would cost 1£. I am sorry i have made this choice! When you see these words: premium, hifi, hires, you expect solid sound. Its not the case here. I guess these earphones would be appropriate for a deaf person, as it cannot add details a normal person would appreciate.Do not buy this product!I love Philips but this item is as useless as a broken pair of earphones!
