Bought for a friend. Is actually being used to make a small indentation in tiles to centre a diamond bit for drilling holes without wandering. Does this well. Speeds things up.

Good cutter
Very good little tile cutter, easy to use &cuts come out nice & straight, would of gave 5stars if it had a wheel rather that just a pointed tip but that would of cost more to make.defo recommend for small amount of tile cutting.

Not effective on thick floor tiles
Wasn't sharp enough or strong enough for thicker floor tile. Probably fine for wall tiles.

Reliable
I used it to score straight break lines on 6mm thick wall tiles with ease (and to make clean breaks across the scored lines using a piece of dowel 5mm in diameter beneath the tile, although a pencil would be just as good). It is essential, in my view, to clamp a steel rule to the tile on a work bench to ensure that the rule does not move as the line is scored - since you do need to exert pressure (I found it easier to score the break lines several times). Personally, I prefer the shape of this tile cutter to the ‘pencil’ type given the pressure you need to exert. The fixed ‘blade’ of the cutter I found easier to use than the ‘wheel’ type I recall using in the past. It is quite expensive. Other tile cutters of similar design are available at a much cheaper price and I am sure that they are just as good. On the plus side, quite a useful plastic comparison drill/screw guide comes with the tile cutter. If you are only going to trim a narrow strip off a tile, I would use a different type of tile cutter.

Need to use a lot of pressure
Did what it said just needed to use a lot of pressure to score the tile.

Failed on first use
Unfortunately the 'blade' came out of the plastic handle within one minute of using. Disappointing as simple solution and similar products have done the job brilliantly in the past.
