5-point Extra Heavy Duty Race Harnesses with integrated Ratchet mechanism fitted on one waist strap at the Anchor point. This harness is specifically designed for full contact Motorsport (such as Stock Cars), Aerobatic Aircraft use or for drivers looking for the maximum restraint possible. Once seated ,the driver/pilot/mechanic inserts a standard 1/4" drive ratchet into the integrated seat belt ratchet mechanism and tightens - this action dramatically tightens the seat belt across the waist to a level not possible by simply pulling belts to tighten - like in a conventional harness system. There is a release mechanism level which is also integrated into the seat belt ratchet to enable the ratchet to be over ridden and released. This harness features a Nascar lever latch and 3" wide belts and features significant shoulder and torso additional thick high comfort protective foam padding (not found in any normal Race Harnesses) as well as a cross chest brace which links both shoulder straps together. The Nascar latch also has an integrated leather patch baseplate to prevent the common situation where race overalls/flying suit can get caught in the latch mechanism leading to uncommanded release during use. There is an additional safety feature in a high visibility velcro backed pull chord attached to the Nascar latch release mechanism - to identify to first responders which chord to pull to release the Nascar latch.
