Tricky but nice
They are tricky to use at first but once you get used to it, the letters come out clean and beautiful. Just practice and you will hadnle it perfectly

Excellent product!
Excellent product, arrived quickly, very sturdy and easy to use. You must use Sugarpaste, gum paste, or Mexican modelling paste, and nothing else as it won't work as well and you will get frustrated and end up not using them again. Also use cornflower to dab over each letter and use on your Sugarpaste!Makes a lovely design on your homemade cakes!

Three Stars
Letters look good, but it took a lot of time and careful cutting to make happy birthday.

Terrible, these do not work for me at all - cheap and useless
I bought these specifically to use on a birthday cake I made at the weekend. How disappointing! After an hour of messing about and not getting any decent letters to use from these cutters no matter how much I read the instructions, rolled the icing out painstakingly thin (following guidance from packaging) and with delicate care and patience they STILL WOULD NOT produce an intact letter usable on a cake. I was using the suggested Renshaw fondant sugar paste icing as well, in the end I resorted to piping the cake instead which was very annoying as I had purchased these letters so that I did not have to do that. I know there are other reviews on here that say these letters work well (which is the only reason I bought them) but for me they are small, thin, cheap and do not work at all. Not to mention the letters are on a strip, so even if they did work it is annoying trying to get to the letter that you want. I will be purchasing more expensive metal individual letter cutters which is what I should have done in the first place.

Great! when you get the hang of it!
Ẁas a bit apprehensive about these following some of the reviews, but I have to say, if you follow the instructions, it works. The letters come out really well and it looks great; I was really pleased with the result. You have to use flower paste, or knead some CMC powder in to your sugarpaste. If you use just sugarpaste it will not work.Use cornflour to make sure it's not sticky. I find this is better than icing sugar as it's softer.Roll it out (I didn't roll it out as thinly as it says but it still worked), cut out a strip, then place the cutter diagonally. You can either do it so that it stays on the mat (i.e. don't press too hard) then peel it off the mat. Or you do it so that it stays in the cutter, then push it out with a paintbrush. It says to gently tap, but this didn't work for me at all.The letters will stretch a little when you lift them, as it's quite fiddly, but if you use the CMC it won't tear and you can arrange it when you stick it to the surface you want.I'd recommend, as the end result is great. But you have to be patient!!

Excellent Product!
As a bit of an amateur baker i wanted something that would be impressive but inexpensive. After reading other reviews i was in two minds about this product but couldnt beat the price so i went for it. I'm glad i did! The first time i used them i didnt really have time to practice so i just went with it. They do come with instructions but i must admit i didnt even follow these! I found when you tapped them to release the icing the letters would get bent out of shape, but a cocktail stick helped get them out without damaging them. Overall i was very pleased with the results as were the people in receipt of the cupcakes they graced!

Great!
Patience and perseverance is the key! My first attempt didn't go well, however, after trying again and rolling out the flower/modelling paste (dont use sugarpaste) really thin, they work brilliantly! Some of the letters are more fiddly to get out, but are easily re-shaped. I also dust the letters in icing sugar/cornflour before cutting and find this makes it easier for the letters to come out. I bought the upper case/number set too.

Tricky to use sadly
I personally found these very tricky to use. I used cornflour and Trex to ensure the fondant didn't stick - it was very hit and miss. When you do eventually get the letters out they are super fragile. Maybe I just need lots more practice. Not sure whether I would have purchased them if I had tried them prior to purchase. BUT when you do eventually get the pieces out they do look nice, just make sure you cut loads of the same letter to compensate for breakages.
