Compared to origianal SwiMP3 player
I had the original SwiMP3 player- and it last a great deal of time- and it rocked; no complaints about software, storage size, longevity of battery, construction of intergrated goggles and wires, and performance. I was sad that I had to stop using it. So I went out to get the 2nd generation: not a good purchase. The pads (that go on your checkbones) did hot have a great- not even adequate- method of attaching to goggles. Furthermore, the OS had difficulties being recognized by my computer and I had to contact the company for a new driver application. Needless to say, when I say the next SwiMP3 player- with its better attributes- I snatched it up and am very pleased with its performance.

Bring this item back and stop sending the bulky Neptune in it's place
I ordered this device after one side went dead. I loved that one but found the control buttons were hard to push while on the goggles. The replacement that was sent was the newer version, the Neptune. This was terrible because it had a device on the back of your head that had to be taken off to change tracks and to see what was playing. This was easily detached when pulling the head up through the water in a thrust. It fell off or pulled the whole device, ears sounding devices and all when doing synchronized swimming. Bring back the original SwiMP3 nad stop selling the Neptune. The Neptune lasted 4 months when is dropped on the floor and broke. The orginal worked for synchronized swimming wirh the ears pieces only.

Love, love, love
Love, love, love my SwiMP3! Can't imagine swimming without it. This is my second one. I had the very first version and just wore it out over the years. This one is even better. Major improvements in compatibility with software/computer, easier to adjust on goggles, and the sound quality seems to be better. I've seen the negative reviews, it just may be the nature of this type of product. Like I said, this is my second and I would really, really miss it if I didn't have it.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! YOU WILL BE SORRY!
A friend of mine has an older model product and really likes it so I decided to buy this one. What a mistake. I used it twice, for a grand total of an hour. The third time I swam with it, it started to skip and would only play the first 30 secs of each track before skipping ahead.I contacted the customer service chat and recounted my problems. I explained to the customer service rep that Windows could not see the device and the device wouldn't charge or play at all. The rep suggested that I re-install the firmware. I tried to explain to her that it is not possible since Windows doesn't see the device. Her next suggestion was for me to send the device in. I said, great, send me a replacement and then I will send you the defective one. She explained that they couldn't do that because it was against their policy. Well, my policy is that if you charge me nearly $100 for a piece of equipment that doesn't even last an hour, you should replace it before you deprive me of it.When I asked her to create an RMA, she told me I would have to go to the website and create a support ticket. I would then have to write up what was wrong with the product (since apparently taking notes while talking to customers is outside the skill set of the customer service reps at FINIS). To make matters worse, I would have to provide a proof of purchase to send in with the device. The implication being that I either (a) am a thief and stole the device or (b) am a liar and a swindler who is trying to get a replacement for the device outside of the warranty period.Instead I will be seeking redress via Amazon and shopping for a competitor's product. Oh, and telling anyone I know who is interested in an MP3 player to use while swimming to buy another product.

For the only product out there in its feild its worth it.
There is no volume control and sometimes it just turns off or takes a long time to play the next song. Besides that it works for what I need it for!

music upload problems
If you want suffled music this is great. But if you want audio books to play in order this is horrible. I followed their instructions, spent hours converting file formats and the books won't play in order. Customer service still hasn't gotten back to me to help me and it's been 2 weeks since I contacted them. I'm really frustrated with this product and wish I hadn't bought it.

Swimming with music.
I love these. I swim 3 days per week and I don't know what I would do without the quality music they provide. When my head is in the water the music is everywhere. And when I lift my head out of the water the music is gone. It's great for a swim practice with a team when you have to listen to coach in between sets.
