Really good brush pens
I bought these on a whim because I got bored with colored pencils. I'm not an artist but I really love coloring in adult coloring books. Even better, I have a hard time staying in the lines! When I bought these, I had no idea what "brush pens" were (I typically do research in products before I buy, but I decided to be impulsive for this one). Then I used them and realized I've been missing out on coloring! They made coloring in coloring books way more fun for me. My hand doesn't hurt after coloring (a HUGE plus for me!), and the color was way better - pigmented. These pens require a bit more time to use, because you have to let the ink get down the brush tip, otherwise the ink seems dried out and you get streaky looking colors. I learned I needed to color slowly compared to using felt tip markers, but the final product looked way better. Think of it like reverse painting. The ink starts at the top of the brush, rather than at the bottom. Dipping the brush pens into some water creates a fun water color effect.Overall, if you like to paint, you might like these brush pens, since I do! I enjoy coloring with these a lot more and using these to do hand lettering & calligraphy is pretty fun too. I've tried a few other brand of brush pens but MoZart takes the brush on this one ;) Between coloring adult coloring books with these brush pens, felt tip markers, colored pencils, and crayons, these brush pens are my favorite!Image attached are what all the colors look like on some coloring pages!

Great product, great value!
I was a little skeptical due to price point. I had heard good things on Frugalcrafter.com and when I received a discount coupon from Mozart, I thought it a good time to give them a try. I already have the small set of Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, so wanted to compare the two and hopefully augment my color choice with these less expensive pens. I just completed a side by side test while making a color log. I used Canson XL watercolor paper and a water brush for my log. The Mozart pens applied the color and blended with water similarly to the Zigs. Some of the colors were close in hue, but most were different, which meant less overlap of color with the Zigs I had already. A win for me! The brush appeared the same on both brands. As far as light fastness, I can't speak to that on either pen. The fact that the Mozart are refillable is definitely an extra perk. The only shortcoming is that the Mozart pens are not color labeled or even number labeled so you can tell the colors apart. There is a color cap, but as we all know, these are not necessarily accurate. I labeled them myself with color numbers in order to locate them when looking in my color log. Even numbers or color family name stamped on pen would be helpful.I will definitely be trying some of their other products.I also had reason to contact Mozart via email and received a swift resolve to my concern. I had good customer service.

Not bad, but more limited use
Some thoughts after one piece, may change later.Pros:- Excellent bristle tip, capable of very fine lines, good enough for hair and leaf veins and the like.- Suppppeeerrr bright colors, ubre saturated.- Colors mix well.Cons:- Not enough colors. Desperately needs a complementary greyscale set, because it's really hard to desaturate the colors, especially with only one grey.- They can achieve this sketchy loose watercolor look, but take a lot of work to produce smooth and realistic colors, if at all.- Kinda picky about the surface (I did swatches on Canson XL multimedia paper and the painting on the smooth side of a piece of Strathmore 400; neither was all that good).I think those can do excellent sketches and maybe brightly colored cartoon/anime images, anything else takes way too much work to get out of those pens. I needed to use my Zig brush markers to finish this piece. They are really nice for on the go I think, but if you want a set of brush markers that can produce just about anything, go with Zig.

Fun for beginning brush calligraphers
I just recently picked up brush calligraphy. I wanted a set of color brush pens to practice with to make my practice sessions more fun. Because I'm just a beginner calligrapher, I didn't want to commit to buying Tombow brush pens just yet due to the cost.I ended up buying this brush pen set and I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase. The tips are soft. I'd have to agree with other reviewers when it comes to the consistency of each pen. Some tips were harder than others.I'm giving 4 stars because of the grey colored pen. I received a wonky one. The ink came out extra watery. At first I thought it gave a nice watercolor style to my writing, but the more I wrote, the more it annoyed me. It was literally bleeding ink. The pink pen is a little to light for my taste although it writes nicely. Other than that, I do recommend this set for practicing. Colors are bright and the pens aren't too hard to control. Makes practice fun (I've been working with black ink for the last 2 weeks).

Some were on the dry side...need primed?
While I like the idea of the smaller tip on the other end, I found that some of the markers were rather on the dry side. There were four of the lighter colors, in particular, that rather than leaving color on the page, actually scraped some of the page off as they were being used. Fortunately I was using a practice page with them, so was able to deal with the slight damage they did to the page. I would suggest that you don't use these on anything good the first time you use them. Rather practice on something disposable so you can see if the color's coming out correctly and evenly. It may be that they need to be used a couple of times to really get the color flowing consistently, I don't know. I suppose I shall try it and see as I really do want them to work.

AMAZING
Markers are wonderful and I love them so much!! Only issue I have is that some of the markers are low on ink or may seem a bit dry. Not sure if I just got a bad batch but I wish the markers weren't as dry. Overall, wonderful and worth the money.

Super nice
Bought these because i'm a beginner and i want to try water colour and calligraphy, and very easy to use! I love them a lot already and I'm so excited to continue using them! I attached a swatch and a little rose I do (was not doing this on regular water paper, just an old sketch book that was water colour paper-like as you can tell by the easy spread). Wish I bought the 20 marker version but it's okay, I'll wait to get them. :)

Better than expected!
When I first saw these I was skeptical of them because I had ordered markers like these in the past and was disappointed. These however are amazing. They are so light and easy to use. You barely need to touch the paper and they make a mark. I love them.

good for the price
Good option for beginners but not the best pens around.
