Zilla Mini Halogen Lamp Blue 50 Watt for Zilla Mini Dome Halogen Fixture. The Mini Dome Fixture takes up less space on terrarium tops and accurately pin-points light and heat.

HOT and Small
I installed this bulb using a sock. You dont want to touch a halogen bulb with bare hands. Oils and dirt/dust on your skin can diminish the bulbs effectiveness. It will also reduce the life of the bulb. The bulb temp was measured at a distance of about 13.5" during normal operating hours. I measured temps with both a probe and IR handheld thermometer. The gun was held at a distance of about 12" and was aimed directly at the probe. So at 13.5" my basking spot (or hot side) temp is reading 135° consistently. As you can see in my pics, I was getting this temp on both devices. This is a great product in my opinion but it's one of the hotter basking bulbs I've used at that distance. Even still, I'm using 2 in my 70 gallon and getting an ambient temp of 80°. I have the ability to adjust the height of my lights though, so no big deal. If the 50W is too hot they offer a 25W. I have a 25W on cool side that I measured as well (the one over the water dish). Its compact which I really like. Even the fixture is pretty small. I would definitely recommend these.

I like the color more than the white
It is more greenish than blue. It isn't as hot as other heat lamps, which is why I bought the 50 watt after learning this from the 25 watt. I like the color more than the white. Even though this isn't as bad as other heat lamps, if you have a critter that can crawl upside down on the top, I would raise this from the screen by about 1/2 - 1 inch, but no more. The stilts included with the lamp are appreciated but this starts to decrease the heat output from the bulb because it is now 3 inches above the top. I'm using this with a crested gecko and a ball python, and it makes the colors look interesting.

Daylight Blue
While the compactness and heat output of these bulbs are great, the daylight blue version of these bulbs are not so much daylight and are very much blue. These bulbs have a very strong and unnatural blue/cyan tint to them along with some odd color banding around the edges of the cone of light. I would highly recommend that you stick with the daylight white version if you are looking for something that looks natural.

Happy with purchase
Bulb doesn't produce enough heat if you are only using one fixture and bulb, however I am using 2 G9 fixtures/bulbs on my 20L Zilla front opening terrarium for my ball phyon and stays constant 85°-90° once it heats up after being off all night.

Last forever!
Was hard to find these bulbs once mine finally burned out. They last forever! So glad to find them on amazon and for cheap. I’ve gone through A LOT of light fixtures for my snake and this halogen one has surpassed all of them.

Not pleased
At first I thought great little light and great price. After a few days it stopped working, I replaced it, same result. Final verdict, not worth it.

Great light
Great lighting and heat for small tank. Only issue I have is you need to be careful not to drop or bum your lamp as it will cause the bulb to break. Also do not use bare skins because the oil on your skin could damage the light.

Don’t touch the bulb! Very long lasting and warm.
Long lasting, warm bulbs. Great for any reptile as long as you ensure enclosure size is adequate, do not attempt to use in too large of an enclosure because it will not provide proper temperatures. Basking temp holds around 85 degrees F at around 6-10 inches. Also ensure you replace bulbs without touching them, the oils on your hands can ruin the bulb and shorten it’s life.
