Not a functional heart monitor
This was the heart rate monitor I was hoping to find: wrist and finger touch activation without the need to pack an iPhone or mess with chest bands or apps and software. The watch looked good and fit really comfortably on my wrist. The screen was large and visible to my old eyes in daylight (not in the dark). The problem was I could hardly get it to activate with my pulse and when It did, the pulse rate displayed was very inaccurate. I tried the tricks that are included in the instruction booklet for making a good connection, even shaved my wrist, but nothing helped. I am 75, just recovering from a new aortic valve and a bypass. I have run my entire adult life and I know I can gain strength if I can train smart. I am sending this watch HRM back. Very thankful for Amazon Prime's return policy.

Works great if you know how to use it.
I am a long distance runner and it is important to know my heart rate while running and Cooling down. Smart watches that use the light sensors can be incredibly inaccurate while the arm is moving. This watch uses the ecg singals in your body just like the hospital does. The material is definitely not as durable as their older products, but it makes up in the smaller size and lighter weight. In order to use this correctly, you have to understand that electrical singals need a pathway between your skin and the watch. This means that your skin must not have lotions where the watch is and you cannot be dry. Either moisten your skin with water or work up a little sweat and it will be accurate as any ecg product.

Decent watch for the money,
...i have been working out for a decades, and i have usued numerous devices, and i will say that if just need to check your heart rate at anytime of the daythis is the easiest way to do it, just put your pointer finger on the sensor and, you will get your heart rate reading. finally i compared the readings to thousand dollar machines in the gym and this is very accurate.

A Dud
The watch was not easy to program. I meticulously followed the instructions, but it failed to cooperate. I purchased the watch primarily to monitor my pulse rate, but when I was on the treadmill and tried to get a pulse reading, the watch kept defaulting to the time. Even when my exercise routine was finished, and I was completely stationary, I could not get a reading. After approximately 15 minutes, I was finally able to do so. I returned the watch for a full refund, which request the seller graciously accommodated.

Exactly What I Wanted Without A Whole Lot More
For the money, this watch/monitor is hard to beat. All I wanted was a low cost, reasonably accurate way to monitor my heart rate at the gym and it does that well. All the other stuff like the timers and alarms, etc. are things I don't need and will never use. Initial setup is "okay" with some illogical button pushing and semi-clear instructions to browse in the instruction manual (a real paper and ink little book instead of some digital abortion of a file or cell phone app). It keeps accurate time -- I haven't had to reset it except for the daylight savings time change and that worked because I kept the instruction book.

Good value for the price and no app needed!
I like this watch because it takes your pulse and doesn't connect to any app. It's simple to use. The only down side is that sometimes I have to moisten the back of the watch in order to get a reading from my arm on my pulse. Otherwise, it seems to work great. It came with easy to use instructions.

Meh
It works but cant track a HR above 180 very well. it also can take a while to capture. Other than that its been working fine but not fantastic. Just sort of middle of the road but about what I would expect for the price. id say 3.5 stars

Works great. Do not have to use the chest monitor ...
I use it for checking heart rate while exercising. Works great. Do not have to use the chest monitor which I found to be very cumbersome. Does exactly what I want it to do. Very accurate and inexpensive. This is my second Sportsline. The first wrist band broke and was not replaceable. Even bought one for my son when he started working out. Highly recommend. Great value. Rate it a big "5".
