Great convenience
Bought this to replace a smaller Tiger unit which had peeling inside liner tank. Another family member unfortunately tossed the whole thing before I could examine it and assess all options. I was also unable to confirm that the unit was not possible to save or that the liner was truly failing. The old unit was still functioning, it was just a concern that the inside liner could be sloughing off chemicals into the water.Due to the excellent function of the older unit, I chose to replace with basically the same thing, just the larger (Mid size) unit. It is pretty much all the same; great quality, function, and convenience. Still happy with the Tiger brand and its high points, for now. Great for hot water on demand with power savings function overnight.

Hot water all day!
I was looking for a kettle/warmer that was on the smaller side since I'm the only one in my current household that drinks hot tea or coffee all day. While I have several insulated water bottles to hold hot water, I wanted something with enough volume, rather than running several cycles of hot water with a smaller kettle (why are a majority of these maxed at 1L?). I really like zojirushi and grew up with one.I wanted something similar to their new VE line of kettles that wasn't as large or pricey.I bought this based on other reviews and seeing that this has a battery saving mode. I wanted the convenience of having hot water in the morning before I leave for work, and being able to make some tea after I return and this checked those boxes. I can leave it on the battery saving mode without fear of it just eating power when not in use and also set a timer so that I have hot water before I get out of bed. It's too soon for me to comment on cleaning or build quality, but I will plan to update this after a few more months.

Decent value; lot of features
We've had a Tiger hot water maker for some years. It finally began to rust around the top edges of the metal vessel and shed what I guess(?) were small pieces of plastic that I could see floating on the top of the water. It didn't owe us anything - it had given good service for years. Time to get a new one. I ordered the one made in Japan. I like that the re-boil feature can be set for up to a 10 hour delay (good for overnight), unlike the old one that had only a 6 hour option. We use only reverse-osmosis-filtered water so the interior stays clean - no mineral deposits to clean out. I think that helped the old one last so long. One thing I don't like as well about this one (as compared to the old): this is squatter and has a larger diameter so it still holds the same 3 liters, BUT, I like to use a single-cup drip coffee maker (that used to fit standing on the counter under the nozzle of the old Tiger). It will not fit under this new, squatter Tiger, so I have to slide the machine over to the edge of the counter and hold the cup and dripper out over the floor, to fit under the nozzle. (a minor gripe)Overall, this seems like a good machine. Have only had it a bit over a month. Time will tell -- hope it lasts as long as the last one.

Good product
This is my third electric water boiler, including one I bought for my friend. It keeps the water hot. You can have tea anytime. It’s also very nice looking on the kitchen counter.

Trustworthy and convenient
This hot water boiler and warmer works wonderfully well. The 2nd one I purchase for my friend. The 1st one is still working after 9 years. It's so convenient to have hot water anytime of the day for coffee or tea.I highly recommend this product. I use gallon size spring water for the warmer and cleaning is minimal, there is no calcification. The 5 liter size lasts me for a week for having coffee daily for two plus sometimes for tea. It's perfectly safe to have it on constantly as long as when boiling, there is space for steam to evaporate, don't leave it under the cabinet.I use the hot water for cooking as well and the taste is pleasing, no funny taste.

Inner pot RUST!!!!
This is the second Tiger electric boiler I purchased. Both are the same model. Both inner pots developed rust very quickly. This one I got from Amazon rusted within one year. (The one before lasted 2 I think). I thought Tiger products would come with better quality than this, but no. This boiler is VERY expensive for a 9-10 months life span. I tried cleaning it was vinegar, etc. but nothing gets ride of the rust completely and you end up with water that taste like iron. The one year warranty from Tiger does not cover inner pot. They call it a consumable. What kind of pot gets consumed in a year??? Definitely stay away from this product unless you want to get a new one every 6 months. If you don't mind buying a new one every half year, the boiler otherwise functions well and is convenient.
