StilGut® UltraSlim, Genuine Leather Case for Sony Xperia Z Ultra in Book Type, Navy Blue

I'm very happy with the quality and fit of the Stilgut case on my Z Ultra. It is a minimalist case with quality leather and suede bonded to a thin plastic shell. The cover flap is leather with a suede lining inside that has the Stilgut logo cascading across it at a 45 degree angle. The hinge is leather and seems like it should hold up well over time. I bought the Cognac and the Black colors for my phone and both are very nice looking. The cognac is a smoother matte leather while the black has a shinier stippled cowhide appearance. I ended up using the black one for day-to-day because it matches the phone's styling so well and has a nice professional appearance.The fit is perfect, and there are carve-outs on both sides of the case for the volume and power buttons, MicroUSB port, headphone jack, as well as the magnetic charging port (though to magnetic port is blocked by the flap when closed). There are also grooves in the top and bottom of cover flap to allow you to talk on the phone while the flap is closed if you were so inclined. I personally use a Sony SBH52BK bluetooth handset rather than putting this monster phone up to my face to talk, but to each their own. Speaking of which, this case does not seem to interfere with NFC pairing. It also has a hole in the rear panel for the camera, though most everybody agrees that the camera on the Ultra is pretty mediocre, so you may not be taking many pictures with it.The only negatives I can identify don't bother me at all, hence the 5 star review. First, I bought a Magnector X MicroUSB adapter (http://www.amazon.com/Magnector-Performance-Xperia-Charging-Cable/dp/B00JEMESHG/ref=sr_1_2?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1407768739&sr=1-2) for the magnetic charging port. Unfortunately the case thickness (which isn't thick at all) interferes with the connection because the adapter turns 90 degrees and protrudes below the port about 1/4" which doesn't leave enough clearance. I consider this a design flaw in the Magnector, rather than a flaw in the case, though it could be remedied by Stilgut by enlarging the carve-out on the left side.Fortunately, with the Stilgut case on and the cover flap closed, the MicroUSB port can be easily accessed for charging. If you're reading this review you probably already know that the MicroUSB port has a waterproof cover, which makes the Magnetic charging option just a little bit more convenient. For those who prefer the magnetic port, I suppose Stilgut could carve out an opening in the hinge leather for a magnetic connector. I dunno, something to think about.There is also a minor weakness in the fact that this case is not designed to work as a stand for video viewing. I don't really count that against Stilgut because it obviously wasn't part of the design, but if you're looking for a case that doubles as a stand, you'll probably want to look elsewhere. If you do happen to use the cover flap as a kickstand it is adequately rigid and it will stay put for the most part, but there is no rubber edging to help it stick to slick surfaces you might set it on. So, basically if you put this thing on a smooth tabletop, eventually it will probably slide and fall flat.The only other thing I can think of is the lack of a magnetic closure for the flap, which I' saw a couple of complaints about. This simply doesn't bother me because the cover stays put without it and it allows the cover and case to remain thinner and more low profile. My experience with magnetic closures is that they are bulky and annoying. Stilgut offers a much more elegant option here.

A pretty nice leather case for the Xperia Z Ultra. It didn't have a cutout for the magnetic charging port which was probably due to the flap hinge design. The cover hinge is basically a very thin piece of leather which could tear or just wear out from use. The major drawback is having to keep the cover completely open to take pictures with the rear camera. Would have also liked to see them install a inside pocket for business cards. But still a nice option over a cheap plastic bumper case.

As you know the case selection for the Ultra is limited. I used the Incipoio Shine case for a bit and it was OK but wanted something else. I then bought a $10.00 book style case advertised as low profile but it added too much bulk. The stilgut strikes the right balance as it doesn't add bulk while offering protection. Is it an Otterbox? No but would you really want to add any more bulk to an already oversized beast? Not I. You get what you pay for. The Stilgut is one nice case.

This case is genuine leather that fits perfectly on the Sony ultra Z. It's super slim fitting and I was surprised by the quality of the case as well even though it's so thin. It looks amazing on my phone and the vintage cognac color really compliments the black color of the phone, I'm very satisfied with my purchase and highly recommend it.

Seemed pretty cheaply made for the price. Looked nice. Offered screen protection, leather of hinge seemed cheap, likely to wear out quickly, didn't seem to offer much protection against accidental drop compared to TPU case.

Quite a lot nicer than your typical China made fake PU leather cases such as the Nillkin or the Rock. Thin, adequate protection. Covers the device well. Does not make the Z Ultra that much bigger. Leather looks great, and smells very strong too.

this thing is awful expensive for what you get. and its very very lightweight. not much of a case.

After buying so many stinky faux leather cases, what a delight to receive this wonderful leather case for my Xperia Z Ultra. This is not a stand, but a very thin, classy cover for a precious device.

the cover is flimsy and bends in the middle, the design has not scaled up well and the logos embossed on the inside of the screen cover create images on my screen.

Habe mich für dieses Case entschieden, da ich keinen Ständer und auch keine Kreditkartenfächer benötige. Es sollte einfach flach und hochwertig sein. Der Preis ist happig, aber es ist aus leder und manchmal kostet weniger ja mehr. Nun gut es gibt offenbar nichts minimalistischeres was meinen Ansprüchen entspricht.Zum Case nun .... es passt perfekt um das Z Ultra. Der Deckel liebt flach auf, hat aber keine Magnete oder ähnliches. Er liegt wirklich nur auf. Hält man das Phone mit dem LCD nach unten fällt er herunter, bzw. öffnet sich. Vorteil, es hindert keine Lasche die ansonsten bei Magnet- oder Klettverschlüssen ja vorhanden wäre.Als markanten Fehler bezeichne ich die zu kleine Headphone Aussparung. Der original mitgelieferte Xperia Z Kopfhörer passt nicht durch. Kurzentschlossen setzte ich den Dremel an und vergrößerte die Öffnung. Das klappte einwandfrei. Nun passt alles da durch.Ebenfalls hat mir eine Öffnung für das Magnetladekabel / Adapter an der Seite gefehlt. Nun gut kein Dremel genommen, sondern ein Teppichmesser und sauber eine geeignete Öffnung hineingeschnitten. Da es sich ja um Leder handelt, dürfte das kein Problem darstellen.So nun, nach einigen Umbauarbeiten bin ich mit dem Case zufrieden.Ich vergebe daher auch vier Punkte. Ein Punkt Abzug für die notwendigen Umbauarbeiten.Nachtrag: Nach 6 Monaten löste sich das Leder an den Ecken des Deckels. Nach einam Jahr sah das dann so gammelig aus, dass ich mir das gleiche Case nochmals bestellte, aber auf das Dremeln verzichtete. Hebe es jetzt kurz an wenn ich Lautsprecher anschließe. Kopfhörer nehme ich nur noch per NFC Kontakt mit dem Handy auf und benötige den Zugang zur Kopfhörerbuchse nicht. Schade dass die Herstellerfirma offenbar nicht dazu in der Lage ist dort eine größere Öffnung anzubringen.Habe das Zweite nun auch ein halbes Jahr und die Ecken gehen wieder auf. Werde es mir nun wohl nicht wieder kaufen. Echt schade. Sieht schon hochwertig aus, hällt leider nicht lange.

Buona cover, anche se il colore è leggermente più scuro della foto. Protegge a dovere il phablet. Non ha la possibilità di accendere o spegnere il telefono alla sua apertura o chiusura e non ha un magnete che mantenga la cover chiusa. Assente anche la funziome di mantenere in orizzontale il terminale. Tutte queste cose vanno tenute a mente prima dell'acquisto, anche perché il prezzo non è proprio basso! D'altra parte, mantiene la sottigliezza, caratteristica principale di questo smartphone. Quindi pieni voti per il design, ma 5 stelle non le merita...

Die Hülle an sich macht einen wertigen Eindruck und unterstützt das schlanke Design des Smartphones.Leider ist bei meiner Hülle die Aussparung für den Kopfhörer Anschluss nicht zu 100 Prozent passgenau.Ein Zugang zur magnetischen Ladebuchse bei geschlossener Hülle wäre wünschenswert gewesen.Zum weiteren Schutz wurde das Smartphone noch mit Display Folien versehen.Update Juli 2014:Nach 3 Monaten beginnt sich der Lederbezug vom Deckel zu lösen. Anscheinend ist der Bezug zu dünn für den täglichen Gebrauch.Daher habe ich die Bewertung auf 3 Sterne reduziert.
