Tippmann 98 Custom Ultra Platinum Series .68 Caliber Paintball Marker Gun, Black

These are as good as they have ever been. There are a few improvements on the new ones that the old ones don't have. They DO NOT HAVE A PLASTIC SEAR PIN!!!!! There are two plastic caps on either side of the pin where they go into both halves of the reciever. This is to stop the sear pin from beating out the holes in the reciever. After you put a ton of rounds through these guns the sear pin can start to elongate the holes they fit into. That means you have to replace the reciever halves or get a new gun to fix this. Now you can just replace the two plastic caps instead....this saves the reciever halves...makes the gun last longer and more serviceable. In between those two plastic caps is the same good ole hardened steel black pin. You couldn't make that pin out of plastic because the force of the bolt flying back, forth and stopping on the sear everytime you pull the trigger would break it in no time at all. Still a great Tippmann 98 with some improvements to make them even better than the originals. Buy one....they run

The 90 Custom is like the AK-47 of the paintball world. Its essentially a workhorse that does well whether being used as a rental or a primary marker. If you're looking to get into paintball and want a dependable but affordable marker you can't go wrong with one of these.

I just received my Tippmann 98 custom Platinum Series Ultra Basic, also received the stock and red dot sight I ordered along with the gun. I was not expecting it to show up today I thought it would be here by tomorrow, but I woke up to it being at my door! The shipping was great, the package was undamaged. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS GUN AND GOING THROUGH AMAZON TO PURCHASE THIS GUN!!! I am just waiting for my 16inch Lapco BigShot Assault barrel from Ultimate Paintball and my full order will be complete; should be here by tomorrow so very excited for that as well. But again very pleased with the quality, look, and performance of the Tippmann 98 Custom Platinum Series, and very happy I went through Amazon to purchase the paintball gun and accessories. If you are planning on ordering this gun I would recommend spending the extra cash to also get a RAP4 Collapsible Stock, Red Dot Sight, and either a 14inch-16inch barrel (Lapco bigshot barrels are very accurate, and I personally think the best barrels out there, I use to have one one my Tippmann A5 and all I can say is it was Amazing). I purchased this item for my brother so we could paintball together, when it came it was in good working order except for the fact the the two threads that hold the C02 valve are completely stripped making so i have to buy a cord to attact the valve to the tank because the weight of the tank is too much. I guess its not the end of the world but you should'nt have to be forced to buy these upgrades. I expect when I pay 120 dollars that the product is not flawed

I have had many low end and high level markers, but the tippmann 98 custom is by far the most reliable,durable marker ever made. For a price you cant beat! You dont need to shoot 30 balls per second like many people think. This probably tops out around 10bps a pretty good number for woods ball, survival, capture the flag. I Just fired it works perfectly, dont let any negative reviews affect buying this marker! Many fields rent these so that should give you an idea of how dependable and reliable this gun is. If you want a gun you never have to fix and can just leave unattended for years, or play every week this is your gun! It has many upgrades to make it even better, but stock is pretty dang good. It could probably use a new barrel thats it. I have been playing paintball for over 5 years, took some time off and went back to the old tippmann 98 custom cant go wrong!

I liked the power of this marker. It is quick and very easy to handle. the reason i gave it only 4 stars is becasue the accuracy definitely needs to be tweaked a lot out of the box.

I bought this Tippmann 98 for my little brother's birthday and it has been fantastic. It's American made and performs well on the field. The new design makes it easier to remove the body of the gun to access internal components. On my original Tippmann 98 that's 16 years old, you have to take apart the whole gun to access the inside. It even has a 2 year manufacturer warranty.These guns are highly upgradeable and economical. The only bad thing is, the stock barrel is short and the range isn't far unless you purchase a flatline barrel or a longer sniper barrel.
