Great
This is a great brush, especially for the price. After about two weeks of daily use it now builds a great lather and feels soft on the skin. Works well with soap or cream.

Excellent brush
I found it had a distinct ‘boar scent’ for the first 4 or 5 uses, as many others have commented. But it’s worth persevering - that animal odour does disappear quickly, and it’s a good, big, firm brush that delivers a lovely lather either on your face or in a mug/bowl.If you hang your brush on a stand to dry, you’ll need a big one - this has quite a hefty girth. But it dries effectively and quickly, I’ve found. And no bristle loss at all.I already had the Proraso-badged version (with the chrome effect handle) and interestingly, I never noticed any whiff of boar on that one. This Omega branded one has slightly longer bristles too.Several years ago I talked myself into getting a pure badger brush. It’s in the bin, after using these two Omega brushes. Highly recommended

Excellent size and very usable
This shaving brush is claimed to be barber quality and it is certainly suitably sized. The handle is large enough to provide an excellent grip although it is untextured. The bristles are reasonably firm but soft to the touch and there are plenty of them.It had been claimed by other reviewers that the bristles have a strong animal smell and needed treatment with shampoo. I could not detect any such odour, or even a mild one, although previously advised that it is advisable to wash and rinse these brushes before first use.Bought to replace an existing brsuh which lost a bristle or two with every use and has lost shape after being usused in the years since I last had a wet shave.

Ok performance but..
Just purchased this brush and had the first shave with it. The brush performed well getting good lather. However quite a few bristles already came out of the brush on first use and there is a strong animal smell. Well be interesting to see how it does in the next few months.

Quality Omega boar brush
Boar brushes need time to break in, so I can't really comment on the performance as I've only just received it. However it appears to be well made and retains water very well. Therefore I'm sure it softness will improve with use and feel confident it will last.Boar brushes are in my opinion, better than badger when using shaving soap and the softer badger brushes for creams. Considering I predominately use soap I expect this brush will do the job.

Avoid.
I almost never review products as others may have different expectations. However I feel that men should be warned about this PROFESSIONSL shaving brush. I use proraso shaving soap so this being the same as a proraso brush I bought with confidence .. how wrong I was !!The brush is huge, much to big to use with the soap. Bristles stick out all over the place and the brush has lost shape after only four uses. You get what you pay for I suppose but Omega & Proraso have good reputations which they wont keep for long with this offering. I think the must be trying to get to a price point but at the expense of quality.

Good brush.
Good brush. Moderately stiff. Occasionally sheds a hair but nothing to be concerned about. Initial smell which can be removed by lathering and leaving it with soap in overnight.

Great Brush
I’ve used shaving cream with a DE razor with a badger brush for a few years now. I started out with the el cheapo Wilkinson Sword boar hair brush which was rubbish in comparison to my quite inexpensive badger brush (around £17 a few years ago)I’ve tried cheap shaving soap now and again previously but preferred cream, but for a change I thought I’d try some of the Proraso soap. I also saw a review saying that with soap you get a better lather with a boar brush so I thought I give this a try as it is quite cheap but seems to be rated highly. I sort of expected it to be a bit better than the Wilkinson Swords brush but not as good as the badger. Well I love it, it’s infinitely better than the WS brush and I actually prefer it to my badger brush too.I can wholeheartedly recommend this, I’m just sorry I didn’t discover it sooner
