5.11 Tactical 56119 Shotgun Ammo Pouch, Sandstone

I bought two of these for a tactical shotgun class I recently attended outside Las Vegas. We carried bird, buck, and slugs during drills and had to be able to switch from one to the other rapidly. I carried a box of bird in one; buck in the other.You can either dump a standard box of shells into the pouch, or, my preference, rip the box top off and place the loaded box of shells into the pouch.Two accesses to shells: 1). Unzip the top and grab a handful of shells at a time,or. 2). Keep the top zipped and reach down through the top opening, which is an elasticized overlapping flap you can easily get your hand in, removing one or two shells at a time. The flap holds your shells securely while you are moving from target to target.Like all things 5.11 you get top quality design, material, and workmanship. Plenty of MOLLE attachment points to fit on a belt, chest rig, or even a drop-leg rig. I carried two of these on my belt, support side, and reached through the top openings for quick emergency reloads, or unzipped the top for a handful of shells to load my tube and sidesaddle when there was time.I plan on using this pouch for some tactical handgun and rifle training coming up in a couple of months. Could probably hold 200 rounds of .40 cal, or 100 rounds of .556 rifle ammo for quick access to reloads.

Perfect for carrying 25 3" shells on a molle belt (or vest.) Like the "slickstick" mounting straps.

I really like this pouch. I attached a Condor roll-up pouch onto the front and wear the setup on my belt when I shoot trap. The pouch holds a box of shells perfictly (box and all) and the elastic is very easy to get through to get the next round, even when the rounds are all the way at the bottom. I can see many more applications that this pouch can be used for when camping, hiking, and hunting. Great product!

I've been searching for many MOLLE accessories out there. 5.11 has really good quality and I'd buy this and other 5.11 products again.

I just purchased a second 5.11 shotgun pouch for my tactical belt. I've been using a single one for awhile and I find it to be the second most useful pouch on my belt, (after my speed gear). It is a perfect size, not too large, not too small. It's intended design is to pull shotgun shells through the reach through fly lid. I use it for the same purpose only I fill it with .45 ACP so I can load my 1911 mags when I can. I got the second one to allow me to carry 12guage shells next to my .45ACP for a 3 gun competition. I also use this pouch to carry tools and such.

Got this for the intended use of holding shotgun shells, but ended up throwing in a load of .22. I tested this at first to make sure they wouldn’t fall through the drain hole at the bottom and it seemed good.Carried a hundred or so .22 without issue, was pleased with the ability to reach in through the elastic top or open it fully by unzipping.Like it so much for .22 I’ll keep using it for that and get another for shotgun shells. Seems like will work fine with just about any caliber.

Nothing wrong with this 12GA pouch. Meets expected 5.11 quality.
