Like a vintage Italian sports car- beautiful, but rarely works properly.
The media could not be loaded. This is a beautiful computer. It is nice and light, very pretty, with nice colors and accents. Screen is bright and crisp, keyboard types well. Very fast to boot up. A dream machine in all respects, especially for the price. The problem? It frequently does not work properly. After having the machine for about 3-4 months, the screen began to shadow and flicker. Over the next month or so, this got worse and worse until the entire screen flickered so badly that you could barely see the objects on the screen (see video on this page). Completely unusable. The local computer shop said that this is a known issue for this model and likely has to do with some wired connections for the screen in the computer's hinge. There appears to be some connection between this flickering and the brightness adjustments on the screen, but I do not know what, exactly. Now, this happens about once every two to three weeks. The solution appears to be to just let the computer sit on overnight. For some reason, this usually seems to fix the problem after about 6-8 hours. I have no idea why. This is VERY inconvenient, having to put your computer "up" for 8 hours every two weeks to make it usable. It also means that you just can't depend on the machine. If it starts flickering at the start of a work day, you are just out of luck for that day.Over the last three days, I have also been experiencing horrible, jolting static from my right speaker any time there is a sound played on the machine (Spotify, video games, etc.) Again, research on the internet indicates that this is a widespread problem with no real solution from HP. Sometimes, holding the Power and F6 buttons for 10 seconds will fix this problem, but not always and usually only for an hour or so, then it starts again. I finally figured out how to turn off the front two speakers of the machine. This stops the static, but gives me lousy sound in a machine that touts itself as a "high quality sound" computer. So many problems, the prettiness of the machine is just not worth it. We bought this machine and my son's Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series at the same time. His works like a champ. It isn't as pretty or fast, but I know that when I boot the machine up, it will work. That's pretty important, in my book.If I could go back in time, I would NOT purchase this machine, it is just too much of a hassle!

Great product, but poor shipment
Great product, with good battery life and nice touchscreen. I am really happy with the product. The onky problem is that instead of 1 week shipment, I had to wait more than 3 weeks and the package was damaged...

Pray you never have to open this laptop for repairs or upgrades.
I have been using this laptop for almost a year from this seller without any issues. So props for that. However once I had open the laptop the issues began. There are stripped screws everywhere on this laptop. What was supposed to be a quick fix ended up taking several days to individually drill, Dremel, extract stripped screws. It's as if they took an electric drill in max torque to tighten laptop components. I had to purchase a separate base plate because of this as well. Ive frequently opened other laptops purchased new without issues...refurb never again.

My first issue with a refurbished item...
Received today, I completed all of the necessary updates and the machine has been cutting off every 15-30 minutes with a Blue Screen / stope code error. It works beautifully, until it doesn't. I also purchased a 3 year protection plan and I need to replace this machine ASAP. Please advise...
