Most comfortable and functional pants I've owned!
I grew up wearing jeans. I like the feeling of "rugged and durable, but comfortable at the same time". I don't like wearing sweats or softer material pants because my legs feel... unprotected? That may sound crazy, but I've gotten so used to feeling something substantial on my legs and it gives a sense of security (yes, possibly false security and it's purely psychological). Jeans, however, can be heavy and restrictive. I always look for "relaxed fit" or "loose fit", and that seems to help.Over the past few years I've discovered that products designed for military and law enforcement use tend to be high quality and work very well for their intended purpose. I'm not in the military or a cop, and I'm sure those who ARE might laugh at what I just said, because they probably use some gear that was poorly designed or has other issues. My experience with tactical clothing and gear for civilian use has been very positive. So I thought I'd give these pants a try as a stubstitute for the carpenter jeans I normally wear for everything that isn't work or church. Town, hiking, around the house, etc.I couldn't be more pleased! These pants fit perfectly when I ordered my normal jean size. They are very comfortable and more flexible than jeans. I really like they way they feel. I don't think they are baggy, but I do prefer looser fitting pants. Because they are 60% polyester 40% cotton, they don't breath quite as well as 100% cotton, but this blend also makes them more durable and resistant to spills. I got caught in the rain wearing them, and when I got inside, I literally slapped the water off them leaving them mostly dry. They aren't waterproof if you really get soaked, obviously.I ordered a pair of Blackhawk Lightweight Tactical pants at the same time for comparison. The Blackhawk feel heavier and have more pockets. I probably prefer the 5.11 because of the lighter, more comfortable feel and more colors available. I like "charcoal" and "coyote brown" better than regular "khaki tan". Both are great pants and I put them right back on as soon as I wash them. One thing to note, the 5.11 Taclite Pro have an gathered material, elastic waistband, while the Blackhawk Lightweight Tactical have a smooth, expanding waistband (internal elastic bands and sliding tabs, instead of gathered material) which might be more comfortable, but again, heavier feeling. So bottom line, I use them for a wide range activities from shopping to weekend hiking and photography. They are handy for just about any activity. Are they worth paying a little more than jeans? In my opinion, definitely!

High quality pants!
I used for my clinicals, didn't tear or break. Was comfortable. Was a bit too large in the waist for me, but it fit just fine with a belt. I'm a 250 6' 7", so the fact that these fit is totally weird, but awesome!

Odd design, but comfortable, durable, functional, and above all- They fit!
They actually fit, even after being washed, and in this day and age that's something in of itself. These pants don't seem to shrink in the wash, so I highly recommend ordering your actual size. They're durable and comfortable, however design wise there are a few areas that are funky at best and downright annoying at worst.1. Elastic Waistband - These aren't exactly clubbing attire, so I'm assuming most men purchase them for performing physical activities. I also assume that 9/10 owners wear the rip-stop belt to keep them snug. Physical activities lead to sweat, and elastic waistbands and sweat do not mix. Within 30 minutes on a hot day the waistband will start chafing against your skin. Obviously physical activities vary, but after a long day of riding my motorcycle in the Texas heat these pants rubbed me so raw that I actually had to wear sweat pants to work for several days. A minor gripe for some, but a design flaw all the same. We're not obese, and we're not a 7 year old living in the 80s, so get rid of the elastic waistband. Use the simple strap adjustments like the military grade trousers use.2. The primary fastener is a press stud (snaps). Yes you read that correctly, aput on. Note to designers- That snaps don't belong on adult trousers. snap, just like we had on our pants as kids back in the 80s. I don't think this design flaw needs much of an explanation. On the plus side they do have a standard button fastener directly below the snap, which is great, but leaves the wearer scratching their head every time these trousers are3. Depth of back pockets - Now this one is a bit subjective. I typically keep my wallet in my back pocket. I say typically, because I can't in these pants. The rear pockets are so deep and wide that my wallet actually sits below my butt and shifts around. Not hard to feel a wallet turned sideways below your butt. And when driving in the truck it felt like I was sitting on something. I constantly had to adjust my position to keep it from pressing on the back of my leg. Eventually I just started carrying it in the side pocket. Bear in mind that this is again only a minor gripe, and a subjective one at that. For some the extra large pockets may be ideal for holding tools, ammo, a package of Twinkies, etc..Conclusion- I'm very picky when it comes to recommending a product. Certainly not something that I just hand out whenever something makes me happy. With said, I do recommend these pants. As I mentioned earlier, in this day and age a pair pants that actually fits, feels comfortable, and can stand the test of time, are certainly worth $60 in my opinion. I will be purchasing more of these (in my actual size this time).

Great Tactical Pants
I'm 6' and 170lbs but have a 30" waist so finding pants in a size 30" x 34" is difficult to say the least! However, these 5.11's fit perfectly and were very comfortable.

Good quality
They need to be washed a few times — pretty stiff initially. But good quality and the usual pockets for cargos. Waist is somewhat elastic and just feels like it fits well.

Might work for some
The material is very good, lots of pockets, but beware of the sizes, in the US size, ordering what you believe should fit might not - even if you use the size chart. The pockets are placed as though a skinny Asian person was wearing them when they were designed, as it was a struggle for me to use these type of pants, for example, trying to get your wallet or keys. They are also pricey, I purchased similar pants with pockets that had easy access, cargo, and 1/2 the price of this product - at a retail store.
