Orange Is The New Black: Season 5 - DVD

I had the first few seasons given to me free, then got hooked and had to see the rest.

Hated the season long riot. The willingness of minimum security prisoners to have a guard killed was very disturbing. The show really went off the rails. However, the worst thing was perpetuating the false narrative that an intelligent Black woman cannot succeed in America today. Even if Janae had somehow never heard of Affirmative Action, her teacher should have, and told her that Affirmative Action would give Janae her choice of top jobs reserved for minorities. The fact that she would actually be qualified for many jobs reserved for her race and/or gender would be a huge added bonus to a prospective employer. Imagine an employer being able to fill those reserved jobs with a highly qualified candidate! There is absolutely no excuse that someone like Janae would end up in prison instead of making something of herself. The idea presented by the writers, that it is hopeless for a black woman as smart as Janae, is ridiculous and does a real disservice to those who believe what they see in a TV show. Someone ignorant of the facts might well think that way, but her teacher (and the writers) should have known the truth about job opportunities for smart black women (and men) and told her (and the audience) all about it. The writers do have some responsibility to present the truth through those who would surely know it, such as a teacher, rather than perpetuating a myth. Then, if Janae refused to listen and ended up a criminal, that is on her. But she should have at least been told the truth.

When they arrived, they were new and they were clean, but 1 disc kept stopping. I used dvd cleaner and cleaned that 1 disc and that helped.

The entire season is occupied by a prison "riot" and subsequent taking over of the prison by the inmates. Character development of the lineup of players continues and the story continues to grab your attention. One wonders how much longer the writers can sustain the interest in this cast of players. They have succeeded to do so during this 5th season of the show.

So far, so good. Just as awesome as every other season so far.Just finished it and OMG. SO GOOD. anyone who says this season isn't as good as others is a fool! It was awesome! Such good plots. And the end really leaves you wanting more, perfect ending!!

I hesitated to buy this season. I wasn't sure how the writers and actors could keep up the fast paced yet fresh storyline for this show. Surprise! It remained as engrossing as ever and I am looking forward to buying the last season

Enjoying watching it now. Gets comical at times.

This series keep you sitting on the edge of your seat. When you think you got it figured out you soon realize you not even close. Really enjoying the journey from start ... I can't wait for the next season.

Die ganze Serie ist extrem gelungen. Die 5. Staffel ist aber die beste Staffel der Serie.

Die Staffel ist leider deutlich schlechter als alle anderen bisherigen Staffeln. Hab sie nur gekauft um die Sammlung zu vervollständigen

Tolle Staffel. Macht süchtig nach mehr. Schade das es nicht weitergeht.
