Leather Weighted 8'
D**K
Great oldschool weighted rope.
These are the ropes of olden days when men were made of iron and ships were made of wood. Hah just kidding. These are seriously great oldschool ropes that boxers were notorious for using in their training. I love skipping with this rope because it's rugged leather and you can get plenty fast with it if you'd like and it takes far more endurance to skip with a weighted rope then it does with those delicate little carbon fiber plastic pieces of girly crap they sell nowadays.Note: Make sure you purchase the 9.5 ft rope if you're around 5'10 or taller. The 8 foot rope is super short and only works well for people who are like 5-5'6 feet tall.

Good work Japs!
Great quality! I read other comments where they said the bearings would get stuck, so what I did is I sprayed the bearings with some clp, " gun lubricant " and it works amazing, it is pretty light, so you have to force it more and more on every jump. But overall it's well made, not made in China, it's made in Japan, mine was shipped straight from Tokyo!!

This is the one you want.
Don't fall for those cheap made in china imports at your local sports shop, this rope will last. I grew so frustrated with the cheaply made rope that I bought at a local sporting goods shop. You can spot them easily by the pot metal cap holding the ball bearing assembly in place. What a pain, the cap would flip off and the rope would fall apart. No chance of that with the everlast model. The bearing is open faced, held in place with a spring loaded washer embedded into the handle. The leather will wear out before the handle, definitely worth the money!

I've purchased this rope many months ago and quick came to realize that it would slow down in mid flight. After reading a few reviews I seen another customer talking about how the rope would rub against the handles and this messes up the rhythm.I figured I would do some more research and find out what MMA fighters using something with long handles and thin looking wire. I believe I've located the company and the jump rope they offer look incredible and I'm looking to purchase it after writing this review. If you want a quality jump rope I would suggest that you look into the SR-1 Rogue Bearing Speed Rope; they look amazing and are build for speed and durability.

For the best results with these jump ropes I recommend using them ...
These are the classical style jump ropes you see in all the Rocky movies. They are not adjustable in length but Everlast provides this jump rope in two different sizes (8 feet or 9.5 feet) and weighted or non-weighted. For the best results with these jump ropes I recommend using them on a smooth or soft surface such as a wooden floor or carpeted floor. Using these jump ropes on pavement might cause them to wear out severely so just keep that in mind.

Good rope. Approx 5000+ minutes of workout for under $20.
This is my 5th jump rope of this type and my favorite jump rope to warm up with prior to hitting the heavy bags, sparring, and other boxing related activities. I try to use it for 4 rounds (16 minutes) before I train. For the first 10 minutes your body resists and is sore, but by the time you finish up you're ready to go.The only major complaints are the ball bearings are a bit stiff out of the box (fixed by spraying some WD-40 inside each handle.) Also if you happen to drop the jump rope, the wood handles have a tendency to crack. That can be solved by wrapping them with duct tape before you begin using these. It actually gives you a bit of better grip as your hands will sweat soon after starting!Good rope!

feels like I could've saved myself hassle and time by just ...
Was okay for a few weeks, then one of the handles literally split in half. Was lucky and had it in my hand when it happened so was able to hold it together then duck-tape the whole thing closed. Then did some more inspection and the wood rubbing against the leather constantly from daily use was wearing away at the leather and had rubbed it half way through. Wrapped some duck-tape around the degraded section but don't know how long it will last, probably a while if I keep maintenance on it. But wasn't expecting to keep maintenance on jump ropes, feels like I could've saved myself hassle and time by just buying 5 cheaper ones.

Good Quality But You Have to Be Careful When Using It
PROS1) Good quality overall2) It looks nice.3) The handles have weight, which gives you more workout.CONS1) The leather can hurt if you accidentally hit your arms or body.2) I suppose the wood handles can easily break if you accidentally drop them, especially because of the weight inside.3) The handles have no grip. If you are sweating a lot, it may be a bit difficult to grasp the handles well.

It's a poor counterfeit with terrible quality
BEWARE. This is a fake Everlast product shipped from China. The real one has Everlast logo printed on both handles instead of just on one.

Ok but not long lasting
I liked the rope. It was perfect... until it broke. After two months the bearings broke and it would not work after that.Well, buy cheap, get cheap, I guess.
