A great alternative to the big name (big price!) brands.
A little background info- my bike is the amazing Gary Fisher Sugar 1, and I ride in the mountains of Arizona. When the stock shock (a Cane Creek Cloud Nine) began experiencing problems calling for a full factory rebuild, I did some research and discovered that I could buy this shock for less than the cost of that rebuild.Emboldened by Amazon's return policy, I took a chance and ordered one.First impression was that the shock looked great and felt like a quality piece of kit. Installation was nearly seamless- the eyelets on this shock measure 8mm, while the eyelets on the Cloud Nine were only 6mm. No problem- for another $5 I bought some 6x8 steel bushings, slid them into the DNM's eyelets, and mounted the shock easily.Time for a test ride! I took a gentle trail first, wanting to see if the bike felt different. After a bit of tuning on the rebound damper, the shock felt smooth and plush. Better than the aged CC shock which, in fairness, had lost all compression and rebound adjustments. For a tougher test, I headed for Granite Mountain. Bigger hits, rocky descents- the more technical the trail, the more impressed I became. This shock ate it all effortlessly. The lockout lever worked very well and helped reduce pedal bob on the steeper climbs to near zero. It's behavior and feel have impressed me for several weeks and a few hundred miles. All that's left is the test of time. The Cane Creek, after all, lasted over a decade and would still be a great shock had I paid to rebuild it. This DNM shock feels bulletproof. If I experience any problems, I'll be sure to update this review, as I continue to put miles on it.Edit 12/26/17- Two years in, and this shock is still going strong. I don’t use this bike as my daily choice, since I added a Pivot to my fleet, but the Sugar still gets plenty of use. The shock does not leak at all, despite the time and beatings it has taken. I would absolutely buy this shock again.

Almost fits perfect when replacement for Fox Float.
I selected this to replace a fox float (older) no lock out on a Trek Fuel 90. This is a XC type set up not a down hill bike. The shock came and the package was nice, delivery was good no issues. I was impressed with the shock and was looking forward to having a lock out and ability to just replace a worn out bouncy fox shock. However I quickly released that a simple swap was not going to happen. The shock mounts which go thru the upper and lower shock are just a few millimeters too wide. I ended up checking out the fox shock mount but couldn't figure out how to reuse those so instead I took the mount off the new shock which is made up of two plastic rings and an aluminum fitting. Its this fitting that is too long, so I used a grinder to shave off a few millimeters from each side and that was all it needed. You need to make sure to remove the fitting from the shock as this process will heat up the fitting. After this slight shave it mounted right up and seems to work pretty well... It is important to read about how to adjust this shock and understand the two chambers. So far it has been real nice on hill climbs to have a lock out.. no more bounce...

Good Shock
I bought this shock (190mm version) for my Diamondback Recoil. I have abused my Recoil over the weekend a bit to test this shock. After setting it up to my liking, I really love this shock. No air leaks, and no other problems. Install on my Diamondback Recoil bike was no problem at all. It fits perfectly. I just used the bushings and spacers from the stock oil+spring shock. The bushings and spacers that come with the DNM shock won't fit the Recoil.

I remplace the Stock Shock Spring and oil for this DNM Air shock in my Diamondback Atroz and this is amazing, it was really easy to istall only takes like 15 min to do it, i really notice the big difference , i Hit some hard Trails and it feels very smooth, i love it! So , if you don't want to spend $300 in a Fox or Rockshox Rear Shock , the DNM is the solution!

Best bang for the buck...
I wouldn't put this on my carbon Bronson, but this has certainly granted my older full suspension bike a second life.I've used almost every brand name shock out, and nothing beats this as an alternative to a rebuild or used shock on an aging full suspension bike. Of course if you have a very high end rear shock that you've spent $500+ on (or expensive high end bike), you're probably not going to sweat the rebuild costs. On the other hand, if your bike came with a basic Rockshox, Manitou, spring shock, etc... I'd recommend picking one of these up in lieu of used or rebuild. It's prefect for that aging full suspension frame you intend on riding until it falls apart. You should do your bushing research though since certain brands and particular years of brands have different diameters for the bushing that actually goes through shock. In some cases, you can simply use the bushings from your existing shock (12mm):Manitou (all years)Rockshox (05-07)X FusionSpecialized (07 onwards)DNMPro Tip:Though this rear shock is cheap, don't cheap out on a shock pump. Cheap shock pumps are prone to letting a lot of air out when being unscrewed. Rear shock air canisters have very little air volume, so it can go from 200psi to 20psi in that fraction of a second when removing a cheap shock pump nozzle.

Just buy it!!! I promise you won't be disappointed!!
I had to replace my Fox RP2 on my Cannondale Rize4, but didn't want to spend $400+ on a new Fox shock. The Fox RP2 was a subpar shock and really wasn't worth the $150 to have it rebuilt. A friend recommended this shock and I figured for $80, why not... I've been riding on this shock for over a month and have put well over 100 miles on it. This shock went well above my expectations!! I haven't been nice to this shock either, I've run it through the gambit and it has absorbed every root/bump/drop/jump with ease! It is totally worth the money even if you only use it as a temp replacement (while your primary is being rebuilt..). You will NOT be disappointed with this shock. Once you dial in the pos and neg pressure to your weight, it operates flawlessly! Follow the directions in the manual for recommended pressure and go from there to dial in while riding on your trails. I went back and forth for a month on this shock before pulling the trigger.... I wish I would have bought it sooner!!

Internals not robust ,fails easily.
Bought one of these on eBay but came from Amazon !? Anyway worked well for coupe of rides then positive chamber valve failed , just let air streight out only held pressure when pump connected, sent back got refund ,bought another from Amazon ,failed as soon as put on bike, this time negative chamber just leaks air streight into posertive chamber! (bottomed out imidiaty and stayed that way till you got off bike .) So sending this back too. Do not buy in my view either they will all fail within a year or quality control is really poor .now getting a rock shock .

Beware of compatibility
I have spent an awful long time fiddling with this to get it to fit my bike. I didn't realise that eyelet sizes were incompatible with the Fox PR23 (and I guess any Fox) suspension. Fox eyelet size 12.7mm and this is 12mm. I had to file down the bushes to get my existing mountings to fit. American made bikes/fittings seem to have imperial sizes so also had to file down one of the mountings. The mountings that this came with may work for you but I think they were 8mm so too wide for my fixing bolts. A lot of work, but the actual suspension seems great and the lockout works a treat.

A great suspension
It's a good suspension but my bike seems a couple of inches shorter. My pedals have hot the ground a couple of times where I never experienced that before. I did ask a proper cyclist if it would be ok to buy this so it's not like I just bought a random suspension.

I've had mine for about two or three months now, and it's a huge improvement on the previous coil shock. It seems to keep its pressure well, and the ride quality is very good. The only downside is that it's highlighted the low quality of my front forks.I should point out that I use it for road trips only, on a custom e-bike.

Needed bushings at each end, which had to be filed and inserted with a vice so that would fit bike. Once fitted works as well as previous Fox shock and has kept air pressure fine so far. General quality seems very good if not better than previous Fox despite being a much lower price.
