The Micro Sprite is our highest rated 2 wheel scooter for ages 8 and up. It offers a lot of Micro quality and style for a great price. With its cool colors and fantastically smooth glide, the Sprite is everyone's favorite - from middle school students to moms and commuters. The Sprite is strong and lightweight, only 5.5 lbs, with an adjustable height handle bar that extends 34" above the deck (37" above the ground) and a maximum rider load of 220 lbs. It's also a great travel and commuter scooter - it can be folded up quickly and easily for carrying or storing away, and the built-in kickstand allows quick upright “parking.” For daily use, the Sprite is ideal for young teens or lighter weight adults. For special occasions and for travel, an adult of up to 220 lbs can be comfortable on the Sprite - it's a great way to roll on a family trip and a cinch to carry around. We would direct larger adults to the Micro White or Black, or the Flex Blue. The Sprite comes completely assembled, with a patented double-button folding system. To unfold, simply loosen the clamp on the folding mechanism, then push in and hold the 2 buttons on either side of the front wheel. Unfold your scooter and ride. The two-way kickstand can be kicked forward or back when you're ready to ride. We recommend kicking it forward to ride, so that when you're ready to park, you can use your toe to deploy the stand. It's the cool way to park your ride. SAFETY - We strongly recommend that riders wear a helmet.

Listen to the age recommendations! Fun for adults!
We bought this scooter for our five year old based on reviewers here saying their younger kids could handle it and also because he proved he could do the two wheel scooter for a short distance in a store. He very quickly grew tired of trying so hard to control it and scootering - his favorite backyard activity - began to fall by the wayside. We decided to get him the Micro Maxi scooter - the one actually recommended for his age - and he is so happy to be scootering again. As far as this scooter goes - mom and dad love riding it! Now we can scooter with the boys and keep up with them. I strongly recommend this scooter for the ages it recommends, especially for adults who want to remain active with their children.

Poorly made handles joint mechanism
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Bought this for my daughter, expecting a good quality product from Micro. I have a few other Micro scooters which have set the bar high. However, I was surprised to see a huge play in the handles joint. The unit looked to be a brand new product, so I thought I got a defective one and contacted Micro support, sending them a video of the issue. The support responded it's normal and that they compared it to another Sprite scooter they have in the office and claimed it has the same play in handles joint.Looking at all the 5 stars reviews, it may be just me expecting too much from a $100 kick scooter, but another model I bought for my son, Micro Speed+, doesn't have this issue while having very similar (if not the same) joint mechanism.Unfortunately, I personally can't recommend this scooter, because I think this level of quality isn't acceptable. For anyone else considering buying it, I suggest reviewing the video attached to see the problem it has and set the right expectations.

Great "next level" scooter for 5 year old who wants more of a challenge
Our 5 year old has enjoyed her mini macro scooter for the past year, but was wanting to get a "big kid" scooter with only 2 wheels. I wasn't sure if she was ready for it - or if it would be too much work for her or too dangerous. But, she really loves it and is quite good with it! Her biggest challenges with it are remembering that she has to do all the balancing herself - her mini macro had 3 wheels and stood up on its own, but the micro sprite needs to be held up and the kickstand needs to be engaged to stay up on its own. She is also learning to slow down using the break and not just her foot - the micro sprite is faster than the mini macro, so she really gets moving! It seems appropriate for age 5, but her friends who are her age are still very much enjoying the mini macro. She also had to get used to the way you turn the micro sprite is different from the mini macro - the handle bars turn the front wheel on this one - whereas the mini macro turns by leaning the body to the side.

I tortured this thing for a year and it finally broke
I subjected this thing to daily use (minimum 2 miles per day) for an entire year (I am a 170lbs + adult who used it to commute) on rough urban sidewalks, with very little maintenance aside from occasionally tightening the screws. It held up admirably to this abuse until a few days ago when the front wheel bearing literally cracked into two pieces. The build quality of this thing is very impressive, smooth ride, and lightweight so it's easy to carry into restaurants etc. It's simply time for me to buy a new one.

Beach transportation
I purchased this scooter because I am going to the shore at the end of May, and I'll be getting therevia 2 trains and a bus. I can't take a bicycle with me and it's $ 40.00/day to rent one at the beach. This scooter is light, and will fit in my 28 inch duffel bag (Amtrak's maximum allowable size as carry-on luggage). It will easily pay for itself in cost savings over one week.I have a Razor A5 with the 200MM wheels that would be too large to take on the trip. Have to say, even though this scooter is smaller, the steering column has a more substantial feel than that of my Razor scooter. I am 5' 11" and the handle bars are perfect when fully extended to 34 inch height. This is a really nice looking scooter, love the silver color.

Wonderful scooter
My granddaughter absolutely loves this scooter ! This is our second one to send her made by this company. Her dad is actually been stoped in Oregon by parents wanting to know where he bought it and what brand it is. A great value for such a high quality scooter. Don’t waste your money on a lesser price, it is definitely worth the few extra dollars. It can be handed down to siblings or friends.

Durable and stable
My daughter is a very tall four year old and she grew out of the three wheeled micro mini. I was a bit nervous if it would still be sturdy and as durable given the heavier weight and propensity to go at faster speeds and over large bumps. I’m happy to say my concerns are over as there is minimal installation requirements thus lower probability for loose screws (which is read about on competing two wheel scooters). While I would’ve preferred the same plastic base as opposed to the metal one, I can understand it’s for a different age group so maybe the metal makes it more durable for the heavier weight category. I’m very happy with the purchase.

Don't buy this unless you are short!!! (It is great for my 7 YO)
I'm 5'6" and this is WAY too short for me. I can't believe the company says that it is for people up to 6' tall. The only reason I am not returning this is because my 7YO daughter loves it. So buy it for a kid or a short adult, but don't buy it if you are over 5'5" tall. My friend's Razor A5 LUX scooter is much better (taller, bigger/smoother wheels, wider footboard=designed for an adult).

So good that it got stolen twice
It’s the Ford Fiesta under the scooters - almost all children have these Micro scooter these days - at least in our area. I can understand why, these scooters are fairly indestructible. The design is such that the scooters can even be used by adults (up to 95 kg) with an easy raise of the steer. Other scooters we have had in our family tended to show cracks in the material soon or simply fell apart. So you’ll pay up for good value with these micro scooters. It rides and steers very smoothly and clearly benefits from high quality wheels. Our son was a bit lazy learning to ride his bike and having him upgraded to this 2 wheel scooter helps him to learn to balance and to get accustomed to the right speed. The scooter comes folded in a sturdy cardboard package. And requires no assembly, just a fold, to start riding it.So the Micro scooters are durable, not to heavy and practical. The fact that they can folded together is helpful. We for example often load them in our car to take along on our frequent trips abroad. The only thing I would say is that it doesn’t fold that easily for the youngest riders (an adult understandably will have to do this). Moreover it will not fold entirely flat. So they remain somewhat bulky, unwieldy - too unwieldy for young children to carry around. That brings me to the other issue: the scooter has a few pointy handles and sharpish sides. This combined with the weight surprises me that I haven’t heard about many injuries and nasty bumps.Other than these things is a great high quality scooter that will last throughout your little one’s childhood.

Great but with one stange flaw
Solidly built scooter used extensively by my 5 year old daughter. Strong enough for lighter adults, and very simply to set up right out of the box.I have docked one star for a design issue. The handler bars pop in and out to make it more portable (flatter). This is fine, but please be aware that you need to take care when pushing the handle bars back in. My child managed to push them so far that the locking pin actually missed its allocated hole and went down the stem of the handle bar instead. Luckily with the aid of a very long screw driver I was able to free it with no damage done.

Good quality but my almost 6 years old son doesn't ...
Good quality but my almost 6 years old son doesn't like it. He has been scooting 3 wheels scooters since age of three, but has difficulties adapting to 2 wheels one. Now he refuses to use it, partly because he fell few times with it. I've also noticed it is kind of slippery on light wet surfaces; I think maxi micro would be a much better option for my son.

Quality!
I had deliberated over getting this for my son for some time, he previously had the smaller 3-wheeled mini micro scooter, but has outgrown it, and after a purchasing a cheaper 2 wheeler which was a disaster, I took the plunge!!! The micro Sprite is amazing quality and worth the extra money, nice and sturdy and easy to use! It just glides along effortlessly, and folds up easily, so it can be taken anywhere. My son absolutely loves it and loves the sapphire colour blue!

Nicely made but instruction were vague
This is a nice product only time will tell if it is durable. It is very expensive compared to similar products but it is for my grandson and I wanted it to be safe. For money though I would like see a free bag, or a free strap to carry it. Or money off accessories. The instructions show pictures and further are some instructions. These are bitty and need to be rewritten.
