Trevor Chamberlain is another master painter.
I love this book. The reproductions of the paintings are well done. The explanations to his paintings are very insightful and a joy to read. It is not a how to book but am enhancement to an artist looking for other masters insight.

beautiful style
I like this book for the illustrations. Chamberlain has a fresh spontaneous style and draws well. The paintings illustrated are representational, easy to like, well composed and very attractive. I haven't paid much attention to the text...no criticism, I'm just burnt out long ago on how-to painting books. But this is worth while for the quality of the paintings.

This is an extraordinary addition to a watercolor artist's library. Trevor Chamberlain is quite simply a master and an inspiration.

Nice Book To Study Watercolor
This is a very nice book with a lot of interesting information from the author about each of the paintings in it. Lots of description, so you must be up for reading not just looking. He tells how he paints, colors he uses etc. Well written and unique book. I bought it because my watercolor instructor/artist recommended it. He brought his copy to show it to us. Pictures in this book are of a good size so it is possible to analyze details and to copy, paint, yourself. My teacher said it is a good idea to learn by coping great artists.Sadly I did not have much use of my copy because it came molded and smelling horribly. I got my money back from Amazon. I had to get rid of the book because I worried to funk up my book collection. I will have to buy another copy soon.

Trevor Chamberlain: A Personal View.
Trevor Chamberlain is an exemplary watercolourist in the great tradition of freely-painted wet-into-wet technique and this book offers a fine selection of his work together with some insights into his career and methods. There are no step-by-step demonstrations; the volume presents a generous overview of full-colour examples of his paintings (and a few drawings) which vividly convey atmosphere and well-observed subjects using the minimal, astutely controlled means that come with long experience of practice, observation and experimentation. It isn't surprising there are no demos – this just can't be taught - though Chamberlain does provide an interesting and useful commentary on his interests and aims within the text, with descriptions for each work illustrated.Another thoroughly useful volume in this series from Atelier, out of print, I believe, but well worth tracking down second-hand; of interest to any watercolour painter who values the purity and magical nature of the medium.

Beautiful book.
A wonderful book full of beautiful paintings. An inspiration for anyone wanting to learn or develop watercolour painting. Maybe buy a book showing very simple techniques as well if you are new to this medium.
