Awesome sound.
Great stereo, love the San Fran model, I also have a Hamburg in my other car. I listen to more highs than bass, love guitar solos and can get good quality sound with Blaupunkts. If you want heavy bass you can get that too, but I use medium bass and love the crystal clear highs from my guitar solo CDs I make at home.I would recommend this model or any Blaupunkt for serious music lovers, be it classic rock, country, rap or the real classical Bach, Beethoven Brahms, Chopin or Mozart you will get true quality sounds..

Very nice for such a budget price!
This is typical of a Blaupunkt stereo: excellent sound quality and lots of control over the bass, middle and treble. You can alter each of them, and even choose the centre frequency that each works around, making matching to your speakers and personal taste simple.I don't use the radio; just the CD and SD card inputs so far. Each of them reads the contents of the disc/card impressively quickly: typically within a second for the SD, and about 3sec for the CD. Track navigation is simple, using the right hand knob to scroll, and select by clicking it.The only negatives I've found are that the removable front panel moves around a bit when you press the far left buttons; the display is unreadable in strong sunlight; and the dimming function is laughable - virtually no change being made to the brightness. But I'm nitpicking, really: it's a cracking piece of kit!

looks better than most but the unit sticks out a lot ...
Sounds ok, looks better than most but the unit sticks out a lot for no apparent reason. The plastic frame that goes around the front headunit just adds to the bulk (like most aftermarket systems). It's a shame as VW's units from the late 1990s and early 2000s were actually recessed – and looked far better. Also, it's made in China, despite the 'German' credentials.

Not the quality of the older Blaupunkt in build or sound. Disappointed.
