Perfect for my 85 yr old mum!
Have struggled to find a cleaner that wasn't too heavy for mum to use as she has bad arthritis in her hands etc. This is perfect and has made her day!

Pricey and almost perfect
Open the box and you see there's a bit of assembling to do before you're ready. The vacuum cleaner (ha, was going to say Hoover, but that's a different brand) comes in two parts, primarily to make the box smaller and so is the charging stand. There is a cable that links the 95GM together for the power switch, and that was a tad fiddly to keep out of the way while you assemble it. A single screw tightened and you're done. The base unit is even easier to construct.AEG recommend you charge it overnight before use, so I did even though there was battery power out of the box. The 95GM clicks neatly into the stand and the three bar LED indicator flashes on charging and tells you when the battery is full by slowly pulsing. To use, you just lift off the base and press the upper of the two buttons on the handle to switch on. The other button gives three levels of sucking power (so as to provide longer battery life). We have mostly tile floors, but there's no problem with it moving from tile to carpet / rug. It works automatically. The small dust collector is clear and it's easy to see how much is in there. It has a relatively small capacity, but it's enough for a once around the house and it's also incredibly easy to remove and empty (that's something some other manufacturers seem to ignore). No it doesn't seem to do as thorough a job as my Dyson, but I quickly found out the best way to use it. I initially went around the house thoroughly with the Dyson and then it's just a daily vacuum with the 95GM keeps all the dust pretty at bay. I have noticed that you sometimes need to go over the same area twice as instead of sucking up the dust / dirt, it just throws it out the back. This comes with a pretty high price for a vacuum cleaner, even the fact that it's a cordless. There are a couple of cheaper AEG models that look similar, but what you're paying for is battery life. They may be cheaper but they won't run as long before needing recharging. The 95GM, has never run out of power with my daily sweep through and the small footprint when it's on the charger stand, means it fits neatly away until next time. What's good:Battery lifeCharges quicklyIt's pretty lightweight and easy to maneuverEasy to empty the dust containerThe stand is small and unobtrusiveWhat's not so goodThe price for what it isCan fall over if not clicked upright fullySometimes the brush head doesn't go in the direction you wantThe lights show up all the dust bunnies you didn't think you hadWon't give you a full cleanUpdate: 30/11/2018: Noticing this is having more problems vacuuming up dried dirt / food off the floor, it just tends to sweep it through behind the business end of the brushes. This means a 'quick' cleaning takes far longer. This is not what you want from such an expensive product. I'm going to have to knock off another star and it's probably going to end up at the tip.

Good for lightweight cleaning but not especially durable
The AEG CX8-2-95GM is a good vacuum cleaner for light regular cleaning but it struggles with the more intensive heavy cleaning you need from time to time - this is definitely better at keeping the room clean after it's been gone over by a more heavy duty vacuum than it is at coping with, say, a major spill of flour, sugar or coffee. The biggest drawback, as with so many lightweight cleaners, is it's not as durable as it could be: after a year of use it definitely began to struggle with picking anything up and now only works intermittently. Probably best regarded as a backup light task cleaner than a primary one to rely on.

Wonderfully ligtweight and a dream to use .
This is so much easier to use and store compared to normal hoovers. I have arthritis in my wrists and find normal hovers painful to use, but this is as light as a feather and with a nice rotating head so less work, and movement .It was easy to build as it just slotted in place and one screw stabilised it . It didn't take a good while to charge but I really love the upright and compact holder- it takes up half the room of my previous hoover.I was wary it would work well enough but it has a nice fast , rapid suction and moves faster than I do . It literally glides around the house and works on both laminate and carpet . The only think is the charge does not last a long time .just enough for one house hoover and it needs charged again .There has also been a few arguments about no one charging it !It would have been better to get some attachment's for small areas .Overall I m very impressed and pleased at how well it works , cleans and easy to use .However I have to take away a star for the fact that it does cost so much and there are several competitor ones that are cheaper.

Very nice... but quite expensive for what you get
I recently received this and have been using a Dyson handheld for 5+ years (which I'm using as a comparison):- overall very sturdy feel- assembly is simple, a single screw is used to bolt the top ad bottom part together- comes with quite a nice floor stand (possibly wall mountable but the screws aren't provided)- it's reasonably lightweight although note the weight is at the bottom (Dyson is at the top which has a different feel to it)- there is an LED light at the bottom front of the device; more of a gimmick but admittedly useful when vacuuming under tables!- the dust collector is quite small, you'll need to empty very regularly- battery light is brilliant, this is a major selling point- it's quieter than my older handheld vacuum- it picks up dust and hairs very well (it has a hair "removal system" at the brush end but I haven't used it as yet- it's an upright only, no handheld accessories which in my mind is a big shortcoming at this price.Overall I like this but at the price I do lean towards my Dyson as it's smaller and has the handheld parts which makes it more versatile.

Nice & Light, But No Attachments
This vacuum cleaner is easy to assemble, although you do need a screw driver, and has simple instructions. It recommends charging for 24 hours for the first charge so it cannot be used immediately. It is light weight and cordless so could be useful for people who find large vacuum cleaners too heavy and for whom wires can be a trip hazard. It is easy to manoeuvre, fairly powerful and the dust container is easy to empty. Initially it was difficult to get used to the amount of pressure needed to click it in place to stay upright when not in use. The charging stand is small but obviously needs to be near to a plug. It has a sleek design but is expensive for a vacuum cleaner which does not have any attachments.
