D-Link Systems, Inc. DWA-566 Wireless N 300 Dual Band PCI Express...
Great product. This is the 3rd D-Link I have installed in a desktop computer to make it wireless. I have had good results with all my D-Link porducts. Their customer tech support is good too. I was having dificulty getting this last one up and running. The first two were in newly built computers and were configured upon instilation of the operating system. This last one was an add on to an already existing system. My porblem was I did not cut off my firewall, before installing soft ware and D-Link card. When I talked to tech support after I had tried everything else; that was the question they asked the let me know what I had forgoten to do. I uninstalled everything. Cut off the firewall and reinstalled the software and card and everything installed without a hitch. Works great.

Nice improvement
Greatly improved my range over my Asus NIC card. Drivers have been very stable and it's improved my throughput nicely.

piece of junk, not worth even a penny
first of all, I have to say that this is worth no more than a thousandth of a penny, and worth infinity negative stars. the problem is the software that D-link provides. It completely does not work with windows 7 64 bits ---> piece of junk. I tried my best to update the newest driver for this card from the D-link homepage. well, there came another issue: after I downloaded the newest software from D-link, I ran the setup and received a ridiculous message that this software does not work in Win 7 64 bit !? holy crab, I am speechless! totally disappointed. this is the second time I bought internet hardware from D-link. But I think this is also the last time because even if they make the best hardware in the world but the drivers is a piece of junk, it is not gonna make them the best. instead, it makes consumers get more frustrated and never come back. my super cheap ROSEWILL card even works a lot better than this D-link "high end" Xtreme N wireless card. no driver issue at all.well, I even try to update my win 7, update bios, try to config the compatibility of the software, set it to run as win vista, win 98, win xp, etc. guest what, same thing, no work at all. finally, after my whole damn day ( the only day I'm off from work), trying to figure out what happens, I ended up return for a full refund.therefore, folks! I am so sorry about this great card's failures because of the driver but, if you have win 7 or vista 64 bit, I am dead serious : DON'T even think about buying this card. you will FALL into the same problems like me. It costs you a lot of time and money. Time is gold!

Win8 problems
This product is not yet 100% compatible with win8. The play & plug driver works but does not perform well (it doesn't even connect my network while other adapters does). It's not something with Dlink, it's Atheros (the chip maker) that didn't relase a truely win8 compatible driver yet. Allegedly yes (10.0.0.211 & 10.0.0.217) but they doesn't actually make things any better. It's stick with Ralink based cards for now, such as the Edimax card (7612 V2 for 300mps, they also have 450mbps version which I forgot its model number).I tested, Ralink cards does work with win8, no problems with native (play & plug) driver.

Quality Product, Easy to install, No Problems
I have been using this product for several months now. I did not expect it to work as well as it does. We moved the wired connection away from my computer so I bought this. Same download/upload/ping as a connection through Ethernet cable, but now I am a floor away from the router. Easy to install. I had to remove my graphics card to fit it in but that was because of my crappy case. 5/5

Buyer Beware!
I actually didn't buy this product from Amazon but have been having problems with it and wanted to see was I just having an "off day" since I actually work in an I.T. company building and repairing computers!Like one of the other reviewers I downloaded the drivers from the official website hoping to do just a driver install and not have the actual D-Link software, as from past experience I find these programs to be more annoying than useful. After downloading and extracting the driver package(currently the first release, no updates as of yet), I pointed my driver installation wizard to the actual folder, Win7x64, and it found no driver, so I performed a manual selection and it stated that the driver isn't compatible! Then tried to run the setup program and ran into the same problem as a previous reviewer - not compatible!Decided then that there was nothing else for it and to run the cd. Finally got the device installed and started to scan for my wireless signal, this is where it gets frustrating. It found the signal, I inputted the WPA key and it spent the next 10 minutes trying to identify the network. I found that the signal would go from full to less than 1 bar to dropping out completely all within a couple of minutes and starting all over again. I am less than 20 feet from the actual wireless router(but didn't want cables running over the floor) and my Notebook has no problem with signal strength or any connection issues!I found a review on the actual D-Link forums where a customer describes this exact problem but customer support gave him no concrete help just stating that the device is "too new". You would think companies like this would actually test their devices BEFORE mass producing them and selling them in the open market. So buyer beware, for me this product is going right back to the store!

Great Network Card
I have a ton of wireless networks from neighbors surrounding me, so getting a Dual band card was the best decision ever.Simple installation, Drivers and it just works. If Amazon hadn't sent me an email I would have forgotten about it, which is the ideal situation for a network card. It just works and you forget about it.
