Incredible 3D, stunning documentary!
I remember when I first got my 3D TV I was desperate to buy this, it looked amazing, and I couldn't wait to experience the depth and beauty of the Grand Canyon. When I got round to watching it I was a bit disappointed, purely because the repetition of camera shots of the Canyon and the dull narration was giving me a bit of a headache. But now I have re-watched it and my mind has changed!I love all the cinematography, it's stunning, the narration still has a few dulls spots but you don't have to pay attention as the 3D is immersive enough to distract you. Water splashing into my glasses and amazing close ups of the Canyon edges, it was breath takingly shot, plenty of pop out the screen moments, I did like some of the information and people featured in the documentary, it was interesting but towards the end it was overloaded. The best part of this experience is the water rafting as it was so exciting! River At Risk gives you a new dimension and viewpoint of the Canyon, and it will take you on a fun adventure.

Grand Canyon Adventure.
If you have a 3D television and Bluray player this is one to watch, It was my first experince of 3D telly, I was just amazed at the way the the picture jumps out at you , It's not the longest of films , but very interesting, The boat trips down the river, the people must be mad , the water is ferocious, Give it a watch!!

Good 3D - Terrible Documentary
I got this (as I would suspect most people have) becuase there's little else available in 3D at the moment and becuase it's had such glowing reviews. I was disappointed. The picture qaulity is great and theres some good use of 3D but the programe itself its just so dull I can't beleive it actually got released. I could randomly stop my remote anywhere on the documentaries section of Sky at any time of day and pretty much guarantee it'd be better than this.I have seen a 10 minute sample of one of these IMAX things that was under the sea and narrated by Jonny Depp and Kate Winslett and that seemed amazing but I can't find it to buy anywhere.

The Adventure
This is the first 3D film I have tried on my new 50inch television and I was thrilled to bits...My grandchildren and I were so busy bobbing around trying to avoid the water being aimed at us...well worth viewing for the shock element alone....the views are spectacular...

Grand Canyon Adventures-River at Risk 3D (Blu-ray 3D)
3D adventures with conservation in mind, only to tell us the Americans are being wasteful again, this time with there own water, and hoping to worn the rest of the world what were all doing wrong. Somewhat ironic really. But politics aside, the film is stunning, although the (how its made) features etc. is in 4x3 format and looks as though its shot on a hand held costing a fiver, disappointing, I thought at least, this would have been made in HD! Especially coming from IMAX. Back to the main film. I was looking forward to the helicopter ride though the Grand Canyon, as you would expect, and yes they are there, and very good, but the best ride is down the river, have a towel ready its very realistic. You can see in curtain parts it was definitely made for a cinema audience, looking up, as the wide angle and curved horizon is really too much for home TV viewing, leaving you thinking it's all a bit too unreal. Grumbles aside, I'm glad its in my collection.

Fantastic
I think this is a brilliant documentary i do not think the comentary is annoying like other people say.The 3D effects are brilliant everything just pops right out the screen infront of you and think you can just touch it.The only downside to this documentary is it is very short it last just over 40 minutes that is the only downside. If you want to see the full capability of a 3d tv buy this documentary!

WOW!!!!
First 3D experience on my brand new telly was Monsters VS Aliens and i was left not impressed. One moment i even thought that 3D really is nothing great... but when i saw Grand Canyon in 3D me and my wife were left speechless. This is the way forward in home cinema. Absolutely stunning scenery and 3D is working as good as i was imagining in my wildest dreams. haha, sounds like cheap poetry but all i said is true.Highly recommend to watch this if you have one of those 3D sets at home. Now cant wait for more IMAX movies!!!! Thumbs up!!!

Exaggerated 3D effects spoil this video
Sadly, this video falls into the trap of so many 3D videos in that the makers felt it necessary to exaggerate the 3D effects to justify the video's 3D label. Clearly, in this video, the lenses of the 3D camera are too far apart and the effect is that distant scenes jump into 3D when they wouldn't in reality (human 3D perception extends little beyond 200m). A side effect of this is that people seem miniaturized and unnatural. It reminds me of the days of early stereo sound when you had to demonstrate your new system by having express trains rushing through your living room! This exaggeration of the 3D effect is an opportunity missed as the video is otherwise interesting with great scenery. A mistake 3D video makers often make is to forget that grandeur of scenery, which is the subject of this video, is imparted to the brain by the different convergence of the eyes to distant objects than to close ones. This is actually of greater importance for realistic perception than whether things appear to be closer or further away. Fortunately, you can also watch this video in 2D!
